I was feeding K in front of my brother the other day and he was all surprised that K didn't hold her bottle. She has like the smallest hands ever and really no interest in hold it but now I'm all worried that she should be. I should as stated that my brother thinks he is a parenting genius ... Does your Lo hold their bottle yet?
Re: Does Lo hold their own bottle yet?
LO has been holding his for a few weeks now, but I think the fact that we use Drop-Ins helps because if you push out all the air, he doesn't have to hold up too high to drink. Just the last few days, he started holding it fully up.
If it makes you feel better, my cousins LO is 12 months and still doesn't hold hers. hth

Yup - at this point we just lay him on his boppy and hand it to him and he does the rest. When he's done he throws it. lol Can't lie - its kinda nice...except for the throwing part.

He can hold it for a minute or so, but after that he forgets to tip it up or drops it or just starts playing with it. So I just hold it for him.
This isn't really one of those make-it or break-it milestones though, kwim? It's really not a big deal. DD didn't start holding her own bottle until she was 14mos and getting ready to transition completely off bottles! She just never had any interest in it. She held and used a cup just fine, so there was never any reason to be concerned about it.
Every baby is different, so please don't compare your LO to everyone else's. I'm sure your baby is right on track, whether she holds the bottle herself or not. Nothing to stress over.
DD has been hold her bottle for awhile now (probably before she was 6 months), but my SIL's DD2 wouldn't hold her own bottle at the age of 1yo, so every kid is different and it may be a comfort thing that LO wants you to hold the bottle for her.

J will hold his bottle, but he can't tip it up yet in his highchair. So I usually lean he back into the corner of the coach or in his bobby so he can actually feed himself.
It took a lot of practice over the last month. Every time I gave him a bottle I would "make" him wrap his hands around the bottle as if he was holding it.
This. But thankfully he just lets the bottle slide down his side when he is finished.
