screwed up my diet?

I used to crave fruit- cold fruit, and nuts. That is healthy and good for me and my spud. But a few days ago I ate ice cream for the heck of it, and now all I want is cake, cookies, more ice cream, and junk. Did I give my body the wrong signals and make it crave the wrong things by fueling it poorly? Or is this just a silly phase? I haven't been caving in too much.

  • I was all about fruit at first too.  Then after I had gone and bought a bunch of fruit I wasn't into it.  I'm thinking its just changes. But that just my opinion.

  • I think it's just a phase or what you crave THIS pregnancy.  Last PG all I wanted was fresh fruit, no sweets at all.  But this time, I'm totally craving sweets.  It's bad.  I need to eat better!

  • I don't think it is bad to cave into your cravings, if it is moderation and you don't gorge yourself then it is fine! When I was pregnant with DD it was nothing but sweets, I rarely ate healthy at all, I know terrible, no wonder why she likes the sweet stuff :( but with the baby I am craving more of the healthier stuff and steering clear of fast food crap.

  • I just think its your body going through changes as well. I use to LOVE veggies and I gag eating them now :( Prior to being pregnant I ate brussel sprouts, broccoli, green beans... and now I barely can get them down. I am okay with fruit. But I definately crave carbs which I never ate much prior and sometimes sweets which I never ate often. I just limit my portions and eat about 5-6 small meals/snacks a day. I haven't gained anything yet so I'm not too worried.

  • You're body won't steer you to wrong. My last pregnancy all I could eat was rice and my dr said you can only do what you can do. Try for balance and that's about it!
