I've been bidding on our hotel for next Sat in SF daily. My bids are around $85 and I've chosen 3 star and up. I can bid higher but like I said the other day I really want a good deal, and seems like from what you ladies said I can get one.
Looking at Union Square and Moscone/SOMA area. Embarcadero would be ok too.
I keep getting rejected. I'm not feeling the Shatner love (ha ha). Should I panick? Stay calm? Should I increase the price or wait it out?!? We're within a week and I don't want to get totally screwed and end up paying like $300 because we waited too long.
I kind of feel like waiting it out may pay off. Any experience? Thoughts?
Re: Priceline people
Have you read about free rebids on BetterBidding.com? There is one zone in SF (Marina) that doesn't have any 3 start or up hotels, so you can use that zone to get one free rebid.
I, personally, wouldn't wait too long to book because it gets a little risky and the prices don't necessarily go lower as you get closer (though they could, of course.) So if it were me, I'd start increasing the bids a bit in an amount you're comfortable with.
I'm bidding on SF for later this month and from what I'm reading, prices are really up this year compared to last.
I'm trying to find some wins that match what you're looking for on the boards and I'll let you know what I find.
Thanks, R. I did look at better bidding but it's kind of like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to me. Tonight after the boys are asleep I'll go in and really check it out and increase my price a little bit. If you find anything juicy, let me know, either here or through FB. Thank you thank you!!!
Oooooooooooooooh I'm up to $115 and got a "check back in 15 minutes". That's good, right?!?!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACKK
Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.
I got accepted at some place that looks less than fabulous and I paid $120.
Super ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Should have waited.
Oh well.
I can't claim buyer's remorse right?!?!
Can I call them?
Ew- it looks REALLY bad.
I effed this up. Sob.
I'm begging them to change it. I have a semi-nice guy on the line. OMG. He's put me on hold for 2 minutes.
omg omg omg omg omg omg
Don't feel bad! I did it. Just feel bad bc yelp says this place is 2.5 stars, is totally basically just a room & a bed designed for business travelers. It's got plaid bedspreads. Eeeew. Several Yelp reviews about dirty bathrooms as well.
(Club Quarters in the Financial District. Priceline called it 3.5 stars.)
Well. I'm stuck.
It can't be that bad of a dump if Priceline calls it 3.5 stars, right?
Wow, DH is so mad at me for being on the phone trying to fix this. Can't win, I guess. 4 blocks from the Ferry Building and a mile away from the restaurant we are having dinner at... I can live with it I guess.
Never using them again though that's for sure! Hotwire all the way!
Ok, a LOT of people say they were also weary of this place and it way exceeded their expectations (tripadvisor). Plus it has a rooftop deck with a pretty sweet view for our Sunday morning Bloody Mary.
I'm going to stop being a brat and make the best of it. Wow that was a whirlwind!
