Thanks to you ladies and lots of research I have become pretty knowledgeable on baby wearing. Well when I was at church today I saw a lady who had her LO in a ring sling and wasn't using it correctly. LO was way too low and she didn't have the shoulder fabric spread. I really wanted to give her some pointers but I don't know her and didn't want to come off as rude. How would you react if a stranger gave you advice on baby wearing? Is there a way to help her (if she is there wearing her LO again next Sunday) without coming off as a rude know-it-all?
Re: How would you react to advice?
Are you sure she didn't have her LO lowered because she was nursing or something?
I am sure. She had LO in it during worship so she was standing and her LO was looking at me. Then she fed her a bottle during the sermon. And when service was over she put LO back in it and made the same mistakes.
I would probably start a positive conversation with her... how great it is to see another bwing momma, how lovely her sling is, how comfortable does she find it?
That might turn into a means to introduce the suggestions... I wouldn't mind if somebody came up and helped me...
This exactly.
