Arms reach cosleeper with side up?

We got the arms reach cosleeper but our bed is less than 24inches tall so we cant use it with the side down. We are trying to figure out if we should just use it next to the bed with the side up, or if its worth trying to get a new bed frame that is tall enough to use wihh the side down on the cosleeper. If it makes a difference, we are having twins so dh will be very involved with the nighttime activities (changing diapers, helping me get into position to feed the two of them) Any experience?? Thanks

  • Hmmm, we had the same problem with our bed but we also didn't have twins.

I think you'll be fine just using it with the side up.  If your DH is going to be helping position the babies and change their diapers, etc. you'll probably end up getting them out of the co-sleeper anyway.  The biggest upside in my opinon of having the side down is to be able to nurse laying down and drift back to sleep which a) is something I didn't master until DS had out grown the co-sleeper and b) probably wouldn't work out if there's 2 wanting to be fed at the same time.

  • Our bedroom was too small to attach the co-sleeper to our bed, so we just used it as a bassinet next to the bed. It worked well for us.

  • Thanks! That makes a lot of sense about the main benefits and how they won't be such a big deal, sounds like it should be fine.
