If your little one takes omeprazole (Prilosec, Losec) for reflux, what is the dose that he/she is on? My girls weigh about 14lbs and take 6mg once a day, but I seem to be noticing more reflux-ey behaviours (fussy with bottles, spitting up more), and I was just wondering how high the doses can go?
We have had the dose increased several times in the last year, and was wanting to know if we are falling into the higher end of the dosing scale or the lower end... when I googled dosages online it looked that there was quite an acceptable range.
TIA!

My MARRIED Bio
There is quite a range. My son is dosed at 2 mg per kg (of body weight) per day right now. My other son is dosed at 1.3 mg per kg per day and has always tolerated anything between 1-1.3 mg per kg per day, but immediately falls apart at dosing below 1 mg per kg per day.
Dosing twice per day (dividing up your dose) is more effective than dosing once per day because babies metabolize the medicine quickly.
Ella (10.5 lbs) is on 1 ml of Zantac 2x a day and 7.5 mg solutab 1 x a day
Sophia (13 lb and not so bad with her reflux as E) is on .5 mL x2 a day and 1.25 Lansoprozole (a compound of prevacid) x2 a day.
