Help solve rash/irritation issue please

DS had a serious issue on his boy bits about a month or so ago (really red, turned into sores and needed antibiotics). We put him is sposies while we used the neosporin and kept them on for a couple of weeks. The pedi did not think it had anything to do with his cloth since it was only on his penis and not anywhere else and it wasn't yeast...she suspected he may have scratched himself. When we went back to his CD this week, he got really red and swollen w/in 2 days.

During the time he was in sposies, I stripped his diapers w/bleach and washed on hot more than enough times which is what I did when he had a yeast rash 6 months ago...the mf ones still smell like ammonia (we only used his natural fiber ones for the 2 days)...what the heck can I do to get him back in his cloth? Please give me suggestions because I am ready to throw in the towel and not happy about it!

ETA: we use RNG Hard Rock

Is your RnG scented? It may just be the skin on his penis is sensitive to the scent being so delicate.

It is but we've been using it for a year...Also, the diapers smell after being washed.

are you sure your HOT water is hot enough? Try turning your boiler/water heater up and see if that helps. We've been having this problem too. Even after I rocked a soak overnight the dipes still smelled bad. I asked RnG and they said it sounds like our hot water isn't hot enough to kill all the bacteria.

I will ask DH to turn it up but it seems pretty freaking hot (as in it burns my hands when I turn the faucet too high.
