Minnesota Babies

Baby friendly locations

Hi! I have a 10 month old daughter and am looking for recommendations on fun baby-friendly places to take her this summer. She LOVES crawling around and exploring, swinging and the water. We went to Java Hut with some friends, they've got slightly older kids and it was a great place for them to run around and play, but she's still a little young to "let loose" there. Any ideas would be appreciated!

 Thanks!

Re: Baby friendly locations

  • What area are you looking for? There are a lot of great indoor playgrounds around the best being Eagles nest. Also there are some great splash pads around the city.

  • We live in Roseville so anything around there or Minneapolis or St. Paul would be good. I looked up the Eagle's nest and that's really close to us. We'll definitely be checking it out. Thanks for the advice! I saw there's a kiddie pool/splash pad at Minnehaha Falls too that we'll probably scope out. Thanks! :)
  • You are welcome. Plus you are always welcome to join us at our GTG we have a MNZoo one coming up next week (just about to post the information)

  • There is a fantastic new (well, new last year) beach in Blaine.  It's called Lakeside Commons Park.  It has a nice changing/bathroom building, a cute little beach, a playground and a fantastic splash pad.  We took DD there last year when she was 9 months old and she loved it!  Most of the older kids stayed in the lake, so it was mostly the little kids playing on the splash pad.  You don't live in Blaine, so there's a $5 parking fee, but that's the only cost.
