Gah! Nothing sounds good and I need to go grocery shopping!

It's true. I don't have cravings. Really. I just have aversions TO EVERYTHING! Except cheese, tomatoes, fruit and pasta. And steak.

Poor DH. He doesn't cook. Like at all. So he is at the whim of whatever I feel like making. Unfortunately, my taste buds seem to be off and I made tonight's dinner too salty. Oops!

So now I have to go grocery shopping, and I've got a menu, but I need to get other stuff for DH to eat. And nothing sounds good to me.

So what is everyone else eating these days? Is it tasty? Does it have protein? Help a girl out!

  • When I went through that stage, I just got a little of everything. Tons of snacks (nuts, trail mix, Luna bars), really just anything that the sight/thought didn't make me yack. Lately I'm loving all the fresh fruit. Peanut butter (or another nut butter) on apple slices & celery sticks are tasty little snacks.

Get your DH some frozen meals and things that he likes and can put together himself.

Not sure if you're still off eggs or not, according to my OB, as long as they are from a reputable place, runny yolks are okay. I always look for brown stuff on the shells too, and toss those ones.

  • So based off of what you listed, here are some dinner suggestions..

French bread pizza. Buy a loaf of Sweet Sourdough, cut it into two halves, smear spaghetti sauce on the open face part, put cheese on top, and bake on a cookie sheet at 425 for about 10-12 minutes. You can add other toppings to it as well.

Pasta salad. Get bow tie pasta, add cheese, peas, olives, olive oil, pepper, and cherry tomatoes and/or whatever sounds good.

The steak craving you can do a lot with! Marinated skirt steak with onions, fajitas, steak tacos

The other thing is to find a farmer's market. When I didn't feel like eating much, farmer's market always got me inspired. Even if it is just making huge salads with a lot of great ingredients and a slice of good bread dipped in olive oil/balsamic.
