XP: gender question from 1st tri

So there is talk on first tri about the gender predictor tests that you pee on or send in and they say whether it is a boy or girl. I am just curious what your experience was with them. Where they accurate? I have heard mixed reviews but some state that they are 99-100% accurate so wasn't sure if it was just a bunch of crock or if some really were better than others.

Was it correct/incorrect for you? What brand did you use?

(Sorry if this has been posted before, I don't know how to search.)

Also, please don't jump on me to just be patient. I am just curious about whether they work or not (probably won't buy them anyway, just wondering)

ETA: I don't really want an opinion on them, just someone's personal experience.

I never tried it. But everyone who tried and posted about it said they were a waste of money. There's nothing in your urine that differs if it's a boy or a girl.

i did the intelligender test for this pregnancy and it said boy and sure enough it is a boy! the test doesn't really provide you with a sure answer though so for the $45 i spent on it at CVS it was kind of a waste because even though it said boy and was correct i had no way of knowing if it was true or not and still spent my days wondering if it was a boy or a girl-

so if you feel like spending $45 to find out what your baby MIGHT be than go for it but really the test is only like 82% accurate and a bunch of things can give you false results (sex within 24 hours of testing, not using first morning urine, being on hormone therapy, etc) and even after you take the test and get your answer you will still be wondering what your baby's gender is just as much as you are now

If you look up Intelligender on Amazon you will see 50/50 reviews. So you have a 50/50 shot. With that being said I knew all of this, and tried it for fun. It said BOY and I am having a baby boy

From what i have heard, it always gives the "Boy" results

so if you're having a boy, it will be right but if you're having a girl it will be wrong

I read that you can pee on baking soda and if it fizzes its a girl

There is nothing in your urine that can predict the baby's gender. Those tests are a ripoff.

I took one along with a friend at work (I was 16 weeks, she was 10 weeks). They both told us boys and we are both having girls. Thank goodness they were wrong, because we both really wanted girls!

I can sell you a special coin that will predict the sex of your baby with 50% accuracy. It looks like a regular penny, but when you just flip it it lands on heads if it's a boy, tails if it's a girl. I'll sell it to you for $10 less than the Intelligender test.

Didn't try it. If you could tell the baby's gender with urine, your Dr. would have already done that.
