Anyone's LO have lower tone? How has it affected milestones/development? We were told ds has lower tone in the upper body. When we hold him upright, unless he is very well anchored, he is super wobbly and bobbles all over the place. Will this eventually improve with PT and work?
Re: Low tone?
My DD has low tone in her head/shoulders/neck muscles. Our neos and pedi all said its pretty normal in preemies due to the combination of prematurity and then the amount of time they spend laying in a hospital bed when they would normally be developing those muscles (if born term).
We have OT twice a month from ECI and it seems to be helping a lot. Our OT gives me exercises to do and I do them every day. DD even has her own exercise ball and mat! In terms of milestones, she is a little behind on things like holding her head up but she is getting much better and everyone tells me that she will catch up in her own time.
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
