XP: How do you talk to little girls?

I just posted this on 3-6, but I saw the post below about beauty pageants and thought you all might want to see this article about how we talk to little girls and teach them to value themselves as people.  It really articulated some thoughts I have been having since having DD.  Sorry, I don't know how to make it clicky.

    I really liked that article. I always wanted to have a baby girl. My biggest fear is that she will grow up thinking that she has to be beautiful with the perfect body to succeed in life. My parents raised me letting me know about my inner and outer beauty. I think there is a danger in focusing too much on the physical beauty but there is also a danger in not focusing on it at all. I think the challenge lies in finding the right balance between reinforcing the inner and outer beauty of all of our children (girl or boy).
