Overdoing it...how to deal?

Today I spent an hour cleaning out my car so my sister's bf can detail it this weekend and then I spent three hours cleaning the apartment top to bottom.  I then  though it might be a good idea to go out for coffee and baby shower window-shopping with my best friend until 8pm.  Definitely overdid things.  I can barely move now.  Has anyone else overdid it and what did you do to feel better?  I know I can have regular Tylenol, but I was wondering if there were any more creative options.

  • I think a dose of tylenol, a big glass of water and a good nights sleep will make you feel best! Don't be afraid of the tylenol, it's totally safe.

  • I agree with the tylenol. I had a full day yesterday and was in so much pain when I went to bed - tylenol really helped!  Try and take it easy tomorrow and put you feet up when you can.  I find after a busy day my body just tells me it needs a quiet one.

  • We were moving around 23-24 weeks.  I definitely overdid it a few days here and there.

On the worst of the days I think I took a Tylenol, but for the most part a nice bath (not too warm, of course) really helped.  As did stretching, drinking some extra water, and going to bed early.

  • I over did it last weekend.. went shopping with the ladies of the family to a mall in Philadelphia... We didn't get home until 1am... And I drove there and back.. an hour each way.. I didn't give myself any time to rest since the rest of the weekend was packed with 4th of July parties... BIG mistake.. I was sore and exhausted all week... I'm just starting to feel better now! (HA... just in time for another packed weekend!!)

Every time I overdo it, I make sure I rest for a couple hours (laying down) and drink a lot of water.  For the future, try to break up your activities so you don't have huge parts of your day where you're on the go without a chance to rest.
  • And ice. On the 4th I overdid it by being on my bare feet in my kitchen all day (cooking then hosting). I felt great until I actually sat down for a bit and my foot started to hurt...I strained my freakin' foot. DH has been on me to get some crocs for the kitchen for sometime, this has just strengthened his nag ;)
