Los 4 month appointment isent until next week. but some people have said I should give him a dose of his pain med before we go to his pedi. The problem is that if I give it him before I can't give him more for 6 hours after his shots. What is better wait till after or give it to him before his shots iam confused. Last time we gave it when we got home and it took around 30 minutes to start working.
Re: pain meds before 4 month shots?
It's not pain related, but we give DS children's tylenol for the fever side effect of the vaccinations. Our doctor suggested we bring the tylenol along to his appointment and to give it to him after the shots... but we also live about 25 minutes (give or take depending on traffic) from the doctor. So, until we get home and give him the medication and then wait for it to start working, it would be close to an hour and it would be more than a mild fever by that time.
