Uncomfortable question/reassurance needed

This may be TMI or may not. Not sure. It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Anyway, over the past week or more I have noticed what feels like my cervix or vaginal wall outside of my vagina. It comes and goes but most of the time I can feel something hanging out. I notice it when I wipe, in the shower or sometimes it just feels like I have toilet paper stuck between my lips. It's not a good feeling and makes me feel like there is something wrong. I haven't looked with a mirror yet because I am not sure I want to see. Its there even when I don't feel swollen.

I didn't say anything to my doctor last time but do plan to in 2 weeks. It's just really concerning to feel like my body parts are falling out of me. Should I call the doctor or just wait? Feel free to laugh if this is common but I didn't experience this with my first pregnancy and it has me a little freaked out...

L - I've never heard that happening to anyone. I think you should call and not wait sweetie....better to be safe. And, I probably wouldn't look either!! Tongue Tied

I've never heard of it either - and it probably isn't as bad as you think (we always get ourselves really worked up!) - but definitely call immediately. Better to get checked and make sure!

I'm not a doctor (not even close) or in the medical field, but my guess is that it's not your cervix. You get so much more blood flow and new capillaries forming during pregnancy that it's possible that you've developed some extra folds down there. That's my very non-professional guess.

I would not wait to call about something like that. I have heard of a condition where your uterus can be very low and can actually "fall out". But I have never heard of anything like that in pregnancy. Regardless though, you have to call your OB and get that checked out asap. And I agree with PP...don't look.

Further research through Yahoo suggests that it could be a prolapse? It sounds like what I am trying to describe.

Definitely call but to calm your fears a little, my lady bits have been significantly more swollen than with my son. Your cervix is pretty deep in there so it shouldn't be that. You could also have skin tags or feel like there is extra folds. I'm sure it is nothing but get peace of mind anyway

Oy Vey! I agree with the other, just call, better to call and it be nothing then to not call and have it be something...besides, even if it is nothing, I'm sure they have heard/seen it all!
