Anyone induce at only 1cm dialated?

I am 40 weeks 4 days preggo and my Dr. is not going to let me go past 41 weeks 3 days. Right now I am barely 1 cm dialted. I have 6 days until induction and I know a lot can happen in 6 days, but I am already stressing about it. I am on baby #3 and with my first son I went into labor or my own but was given pitocin when things slowed. My contractions were horrible and my epi wore off. I also pushed for near 3 hours. With DS #2, my water broke on my due date, on its own and labor progressed on its own and labor/delivery was a breeze. I am nervous I wont make progress by Thurs and will need an induction. I am nervous that my body is not ready and I am only 1 cm dialted. I just dont want a failed induction. Anyone have luck being induced without much progress?

I had an attempted induction at 37w 2d for low fluids. I was only 1 cm and 50%. I was given 4 doses of cytotec and then they tried gel. I ended up going home at 1 cm 70%. My body was not taking to the meds and my fluid levels went up after going through the process for 35 hours.

I am being told I'll be induced again at 40 weeks so I'm hopinh my body is ready this time and the meds will help with the dilation!

As long as your body is ready for labor I don't think you'll have a problem! Good luck!

I was induced at 40W5D with DD, and had been 1 cm for 4 weeks. I would suggest cervadel. I had two round of it before they broke my water and started the pitocin. I had my baby 14 hours after that, with 2 hours of pushing. They were prepping me for a C at 12 hours, and my doctor decided to let me try to push. My epi failed, and I had a serious episiotomy (at my request). The good news it - I had that baby vaginally! Relax, request cervadel, and believe in yourself! GL!

With DD I was induced at 37 weeks 1 cm dilated due to pre-e. I have 1 dose of cervidil at 6 pm and then pitocin at 5 am after no progress they turned off the pit and let me shower after my shower I was over 2 cm(around 2 pm). Then tried cytotec after a few hours of that I was at 4 cm they broke my water (about 8 pm) and started the pit back up and had my DD the following morning. My body was not ready. Seeing as your over 40 weeks i'm sure it will go a lot faster and smoother for you.

I was induced at 38w6d due to GD. I was barely a fingertip dilated to start. They did a round of cervidil, which started contractions and got me to 1 cm. Tried pitocin for a few hours which did nothing. Another round of cervidil got me to 2 cm and stronger contractions. Started pitocin, got to 4cm, they broke my water and things finally got going from there. Start to finish the induction was 56 hours, with 38 hours of labor, but I delivery vaginally and overall had a pretty positive experience. I would, and probably will have to, do it again.

My water broke at 37 weeks but I wasn't having contractions. When I got to the hospital I was 1 cm dilated so they put me on pitocin to start the contractions. I am a FTM so I've never been in labor or gave birth before, but that didn't effect me in how fast things progressed. Within 5 hours of pitocin & contractions I was 4-5 cm dilated, & 3 hours after that I was fully dilated, pushed a total of 5 times in about 5 minutes & baby was out. It's obviously different for everyone GL!!!

I was 1cm 80% effaced 0 station when i was induced at 39 weeks 2 days due to possible placental bleeding. I was started on pit at 1130am and was only 2 cm at 1pm and after a shot of stadol i went from 2 to 10cm in just over 2 hours. I delivered DD after 3 pushes at 4:02pm.

I was induced with my first at 41w3d and was barely considered 1cm. I went in at 7pm and cervadel was put in place. It worked really well and they actually had to remove it before the 12 hour period was up. So it was removed around 3:30am. I continued contracting on my own without pitocin, until about 7am when i was 10 cm. DS was still high so i was given pitocin to help get stronger contractions to make him drop. By 11am i was pushing and he was born around 12:30. Good luck to you! I know how frustrating it can be to wait and wait!

I was induced at 41 1/2 weeks and I was not dialated at all or showing any kind of signs that she was going to come on her own. I had a successful short induction.

with my 1st I was 40w1d 0CM and 0% they gave me cervidel and then pitocin and 2 days later not in full labor I have my DS. And it took the full 2 days to make any progression.

I was 6 days overdue with my daughter (second baby) and was scheduled to be induced the next day. I went in to have gel put in the evening before and I wasn't even a fingertip dilated and my cervix was posterior. That was at 5pm and I went into full blown labour at midnight and she was born at 1:18 am .. VERY FAST. I obviously didn't end up needing the pitocin induction that was scheduled for the next morning. Maybe ask if they'd consider trying gel first to get things moving without a full pitocin induction.

Yes! induce a 41w 4days for low anmnio fluid. 0cm dialated and 0%effaced. I had 2 rounds of cervadil, and I wasnt progressing with the pitocin after 12 hours...was 3 cm by then. HOWEVER, once I had an epidural I literally went from 3cm to 9cm in a couple of hours. Great vaginal delivery. Good luck

My water broke at 36.6 I was 1.5cm dilated. Broke at 230am hooked to pit at 4am and she was born at 232pm no complications.. 20 minutes of pushing. Not sure how many specifically. No tearing. Easy as could be.. good luck!
