late schedule

Anyone else have a LO on a "late" schedule?

DD goes to bed around 1030pm and gets up between 930-1030am. Its good that she gets about 12 hours of sleep, and the schedule works for us since I work evenings and like to sleep in a little bit.

Sometimes I wonder if keeping on a late schedule is bad for her though... I mean, isn't is supposed to be 'early to bed, early to rise' for all that healthy/wealthy/wise stuff?

Thoughts?

Re: late schedule

  • DS is on a schedule like that. Bed around 930-10pm up around same time in the am, he isn't STTN but goes around 6 hrs at a time. I am a SAHM so I see no problem in it now. My only concern is when he is enrolled in daycare after he is one, for social interation, a few days a week there will be some adusting needed. So in preporation for that I am trying to get him on a more "typical" schedule.

  • DD goes to bed between 8 and 10.  Usually around 9 but it really depends on the day - and she's usually up by 6.  If I don't have to work we go back to sleep until between 8 and 9 in the big bed.

  • DS was on that schedule until we moved west... now he's a 7-7 baby but everyone's schedule is a little different and if that's what works for you, i think it's fine.. not a doctor or anything of course but if baby seems happy- i'd prob do it.  :)

  • Your daughter is beautiful :)

When we have tried to put DD to be later, she wakes up at the same time.  She goes to bed between 7-8pm.  I'm enjoying my quiet evenings now...

DH works an odd schedule, and DD sleeps 12 midnight until 11-12 noon. As long as they get the right ammount of sleep, it doesn't really matter when it is.
