NBR--Pity Party, Table for One

So what do you do for a really bad stiff neck?  Heat or ice?  Can't friggin' turn my head or lean over and I'm literally sick to my stomach.

Felt fine at 4am when the cat brought a LIVE mouse to our bedroom and we had to wait for her to finish killing it so I could toss it in the toilet.

Oh.. and I'm babysitting my neighbor's 5 year old this morning so she can go to the dentist.   He's a nice little boy but I'm not mentally prepared to deal with a 5 year old today.

And I'm crampy.  Aunt Flo makes a grand entrance this morning.

And, to top it off, I'm turning 44 today.   Must be the age thing kicking in.   At least hubby says we're going to Red Lobster tonight (which is the closest thing to seafood you can get in this town.)

Grumble grumble grumble.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  (first things first!)

I'd go with the heating pad for your neck.  I've used those disposable heating pads and loved them.

An early birthday present from kitty...that was sweet!  (Well, kinda gross, but kitty meant well.)

Hope you enjoy your birthday dinner!

  • I was okay when I thought the mouse was dead.

But I freaked when she put it down and it started running toward the bed...looking for a place to hide.  Luckily, she caught it again and finished him off!

Good kitty!   She's ancient and arthritic, but still gets those mice outta our house.

heat.  Do you have one of those things you can throw in the microwave and put around your neck?  Moist heat would be awesome.  I had to do that for a stiff neck a while ago.  And yes, advil or other anti-inflammatories would be good.

  • Happy Birthday! On the positive note, when you are 64 you will think "I wish I were 44 right now". So enjoy being 44!

Not sure what to do with the neck issue other than Motrin.

    First Happy 44.

Second if you do not have a microwavable heating pad you can make your own with a tube sock (clean and no holes) and rice.  Fill the sock with rice, knot the top and put it in the microwave.  You might need to do a 30 sec to a minute at a time to get the right temperature the first time without burning the rice.

  • Happy birthday! If none of the above work, have an extra glass of wine and a few cheddar bay biscuits with dinner tonight!

  • Happy birthday!  I hope the heat helps your neck, and the 5-year-old was on exemplary behavior.

I think it's sweet that the cat remembers your birthday every year!  Awww!

Happy, Happy Birthday!  I hope there's some cake and ice cream involved too!

  • Happy belated birthday! I hope the biscuits at Red Lobster made it a happy one.

I love those biscuits. I could make a meal out of just the biscuits. Red Lobster biscuits and the Bloomin' Onion from Outback...drool.
