Update on DH's LP and thanks

To all the ladies that responded with advice, thank you for it.  DH is currently curled up in bed and watching Lord of the RIngs.   He is under orders to stay like that for minimum of 24hours.  When we first went in, the doctor and the nurse said just no heavy lifting, hang out on the couch and drink lots of water.  They had DH sit at first and things were going fine until DH started to faint.  They had to take the needle out, get him lying down and his BP back up before they could start again.  When he was lying down they stuck him twice more in two different positions because they couldn't get the fluid. They put him back in the sitting position once he felt better and stuck him a 4th time.  They sent us home with pain meds and were told that his chances of getting the spinal headache had gone from, "you probably won't get it." to "you ARE going to get it."  He is currently only woozy when he stands up and says his back hurts.  If the headache is really bad by Monday they want him back in.

    Ugh - I'm sorry to hear they had to poke him so many times - not fun!  He'll totally know if it the spinal headache is coming on.  As soon as you stand up you can't even think straight, and for me, it made me immediately dry heave/vomit from the pain.  Sounds like they are on the ball if they are on the lookout for it.  Good luck!  I hope he's a lucky one that misses it completely!  :)

    Ugh, that sounds horrible.  I am sorry he had to go through this.  DS had to get one b/c he had a fever at less than 28 days old.  Whenever I hear the term, I always think of that.
