food stains

We just started DD on solids last week and I've now discovered the joys (ha) food stains on bibs, dishtowels, and clothes.  What do you use to get those stubborn stains out?  I thought poop stains were bad, but I swear sweet potato is equally stain-inducing...

Re: food stains

  • I shout it out. If that fails I put it in the sun.

  • I immediately rinse out the food, then spray with shout til its time to wash a load. We usually do feedings without clothes on so we just have to worry about bibs. And when it comes to clean ups I use wipes or wet paper towels so I can just toss them when I'm done.

  • We use plastic bibs for solids (some even have a pocket on the bottom to catch all the food that doesn't get in the mouth!

Thanks for the suggestions.  I used one of the Baby Bjorn bibs today - it's made out of a plastic-like material that you can just wipe/rinse clean and has a pocket at the bottom to catch wayward food.  That worked out a lot better.
