Are teeth supposed to come in any sort of order?

DS is definitely a late bloomer when it comes to getting teeth. First came the bottom two, then the top two, and then one top incisor. The last came through about a month or so ago, and now all of a sudden he's got a molar coming in. I kinda thought they came in pairs, starting with the front and then working their way back. Is there an order? Pedi says as long as he's getting teeth, he is normal. I'm curious what others' experiences are...

  • I think generally kids get the front teeth first, two at a time (middle two, then next two, in pairs, top and bottom), then first molars top and bottom, then incisors, top and bottom, then the last set of molars.  But I've seen other kids with slightly less balanced sets of teeth.

  • Our experience has been typical (coming in pairs) But I do have friends who have had them scattered.

  • Natalie has her bottom two (and has for about 3-4 months) and nothing else.  Looks like she's been working on her eye teeth for about 3 weeks though...nothing in the front yet.  Pedi said not to worry.
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
