I have heard "you don't even look pregnant" so many times this week I could scream! I have a very clear baby bump to anyone who knows me. I've never been one to gain weight in my belly (arms, legs, thighs, butt? absolutely! just don't gain in the belly area).
Everyone that knows me really well can see I am clearly showing, but people I don't know as well say "oh my gosh you don't even look pregnant" when I tell them how far am I?
Should I be worried?? Everytime I've been to the doctor thus far my uterus size is measuring right on track!
Re: Anyone else 'small'? - vent
oh, I have gotten the opposite. You look big today! Mind you I'm not that big, to everyone else but this one person I look like a normal 18 almost 19 wk pregnant ladie.
People I have learned just feel the need that they have to comment which doesn't make sense to me. Since it is NOT ok when you are not pregnant
I didn't 'look' pregnant to others until I was about 6months with my son, but everyone who knew me could tell. we all carry differently and as long as you're on track per your OB, there is nothing to worry about!
This is true for me too.
This was also the case for me. I heard people tell me I looked small up until the day my water broke. My doctor told me I would always look 'small' as I am tall and have room for the belly to go up instead of out. I just smiled, said thanks for the compliment and moved on with my day.
Unless your doctor tells you there is an issue, don't worry and be happy you don't have the belly to deal with, yet.

I'm still not obviously showing, although the changes in my body are VERY apparent to me, my DH, and anybody who knows me. I'm small to begin with and haven't really gained any weight, plus my enlarged chest is camouflaging the roundness in my belly.
As long as your baby is growing and your doctor isn't worried, just let it roll right off your back.
It shocks me how little people know about pregnancy and when you should start showing, etc. Luckily I haven't gotten any comments yet because hardly anybody knows (and only 1 person who knows sees me on a regular basis, and that's DH!!)
I'd call 'em out for being rude. It's never OK to comment on someone's size, pregnant or not!
edit - Unless you have the initials MD after your name!
Yes, taller women tend to carry smaller, I feel small but I'm 5'7 so I think that has some to do with it, that and it's my first. As long as your doctor isn't worried then I would just enjoy it.
I carried small the whole way through my pregnancy with DS. I never even fit maternity tops, I never got big enough. I was wearing most of my normal tops right the way through. I was also wearing some of my normal jeans just with the button extender.
There was one lady last time though, I was in the post office where my friend works and the three of us were chatting about the pregnancy. My friend commented on how small I looked and the lady says "oh I don't know, you look like you're about 5 1/2 months along". I was exactly 5 1/2 months along and we were both gobsmacked. I was so impressed with that.
