Appt update :)

Saw my OB for the first time yesterday. BIG change from being with an RE. They are much more clinical and not has warm and fuzzy. Lots of more rules! My mom did come with me because DH couldn't and I wanted her to be able to see an u/s. I calmed down when she got to my house. I hate this new found anxiety.

Everyone was "nice" enough. The u/s tech was a bit cold but we got to see baby and it was sooooooo awesome! We can see the head, arm and leg buds! DH said he couldn't stop looking at it when I sent him the picture on this phone. That made my day!

They understand about my IF and anxiety and said if I woke up one morning or am having a bad day I can call and they will do a doppler or a u/s depending on how far I am to put me at ease. That is one of the main reasons I picked them because I know I'm going to have anxiety.

In the NP and 1st doctor I met they told me that in their book I'm "out of the woods". My baby looks great, the u/s is spot on with a strong heartbeat and that they don't think anything bad aka m/c will happen. They say it's more likely earlier. I still mentally need to get to 12 and 14 weeks. 12 week appt and at 14 weeks I'll prob go in for one last u/s before we tell the world.

So......we are going in for a 12 u/s at 11.5 weeks. hahaha. But we are going to do the Down Syndrome testing. Although if we fall into the risk category I would not do a amino nor would I terminate. I guess for us it's just nice to know so we aren't totally shocked at the birth and can mentally prepare if we are going to have a high possibility for a child with special needs. Otherwise....this is starting to slowly sink in that we are parents and it's an amazing feeling after so many years of trying.
