Fertility Specialist in Nashville?

My husband and I are moving to Nashville in July.  We have been working with a great fertility specialist for over a year but will not be able to continue with them due to the distance to TN.

Can anyone recommend a great (high success rates, good bedside manner) doctor in the Nashville area?

Thanks so much!

Re: Fertility Specialist in Nashville?

  • Nashville Fertility Center is the place to go. I saw Dr. Eblen, but I've heard good things about all the doctors there,
  • Thanks!  I sincerely appreciate it!

  • I am also using Nashville Fertility Center!  Love it there!
  • We had a consultation with Nashville Fertility Group (it's the only center in the area) and had overall mixed feelings. We saw Dr Wiseman. I think it depends on what type of treatment you need. We knew we needed IVF w/ ICSI and PGD. They have great success rates with IVF, but our situation complicated things a bit. We had then decided we would go with SHER Institute in St Louis because we had 2 friends with excellent outcomes go there and they offer multi-cycle packages (which Nashville does not and can save you a lot of $). In the end my advice would be to go to a consultation, even though it's $250, and see what you think. If unimpressed or want to have another option the SHER Institute in St Louis offers free consultations and it's within driving distance.
  • I live in Chattanooga but drove to Nashville for a consult with Nashville Fertility Center-- we saw Dr. Hill.  I liked Dr. Hill a lot, and they have great success rates.  We decided to stick with the RE we had been seeing in Chattanooga (Dr. Scotchie at Tennessee Reproductive Medicine) for a few reasons:

-success rates and costs were similar

-stress of driving 2 hours each way for every-other-day visits during IVF treatment cycle was just too much

-at NFC, you see a nurse much more than you ever see or talk to a doctor.  Nurses do all the scans (ultrasounds), etc.  It's my understanding that, after your initial consult with the doctor (which was very thorough and helpful, by the way) you have to make a separate appt. if you want to speak with a doctor.  I don't know what your diagnosis is, but it made  a big difference to us to see our doctor at every visit, they took time to let us ask questions, the doctor actually called to check on us or report lab results, etc.

Good luck and hope this helps!  Just wanted you to know up front what to expect.
