Georgia Babies

So ready for just ONE daycare drop off!

Due to schedule issues, both kids are at daycare at my office today.  OMG... so much easier!  I know Gavin can't come back here full-time- he's made so much more progress at his new school.  But I am counting down till Sophie turns 1 and I wean her so that she can go to his new school!  So much simpler.  I still have no regrets about my decision to put them in separate daycares- nothing can replace the peace of mind I have knowing that they are both in the best place for their needs.  But the logistics are just exhausting.

See, I'm actually considering the separate drop-off thing right now because I'm looking into the Georgia Pre-K program for Geneva next year.

There's a daycare around the corner from me with GA Pre-K slots. If the cost for before/aftercare works out to be cheaper than paying for private Pre-K at our current facility (and provided I can get her in), I'll have #2 at our current facility with DH dropping off and I'll bring Geneva with me in the a.m.

The GA Pre-K where we live is abysmal and our facility doesn't offer pick-ups/drop-offs.

  • I am also considering separate drops for my two in pre-k.  The one yr old class did not make at P's school so I would have to bring Isaac somewhere else 2 days/week.  And since he is only 3 hrs, at least one half hr would be dropping P then that would only leave me 2.5 hrs of free time.  But 2.5 hrs is better than none, I guess....

Well, with you only doing 1 drop off and DH doing the other, it will probably be fine.  Our problem is that DH and I carpool... so on a normal day, I have to stop 3 times before I get to my desk... Gavin's daycare (DH takes him in), DH's office, Sophie's daycare, and then finally I can go to work.  I'm exhausted by the time I get here!

  • It's exhausting just thinking about your morning! I bet you're ready to go home as soon as you plop down in your chair. It's worth it to have them separate, but you're right, it will be such a great day when it's just one drop off!
