my dog now follows me EVERYWHERE

At first it was cute,  now,  not so much!  He's 120 pounds and 36 inches tall when he sits, so he's quite large.  When he tries to follow me into my small walk in closet, it doesn't leave me a lot of room to move in there!  Oh, and the bathroom too, LOL!  It seems to get worse as my bump grows.

Re: my dog now follows me EVERYWHERE

  • Aw, that would get annoying.  I normally have two small (9lb and 7 lb) Papillons following me everywhere.  It's pretty hard to not step on something when I'm in the kitchen cooking.  lol.  Gotta love em thoughWink

  • We had a dog during my last pregnancy (a boxer), and he never left my side during my pregnancy.  It was so sweet, but I got so annoyed because I was tripping on him all the stinking time!

  • I know how you feel i have a 70 lb pitbull always following me, he even sleeps in my room now because he will whine at the door until i let him in!

  • My dog has done this alot lately too. I've also noticed that children are more drawn to me. Both of these are great sometimes, other times I wish I were invisible. I have a friend who swears up and down it means we're having a girl.I of course am choosing to take her owt with a grain of salt. I do have a "feeling" this LO is a girl but I've had that feeling since the day we got our BFP.

  • My dog is the same way. But, she is a 6 pound Yorkie. So, it's not as annoying as a big dog. She also follows me into the bathroom. She is always under my feet and this is new for her.

  • i can see the annoyance with a large animal. our rabbit does the same but he's 4lbs and matches the carpet so i accidentally kick him in the face some times and i feel horrible for it. i love how he comes and lays with me. but i hate when he grooms me because he'll bite and pull at my clothes.

  • He's just helping prepare you for having kids- they follow you everywhere, including the bathroom. Smile

  • I think dogs know more than we realize. When my mom had her two hip replacements, he didn't jump on her. He avoids my 2 year old nephew. And now with me, he doesn't jump on me. This would be normal of any dog but my dog has behavior issues and practically knocks people over. Now with me, it's like he's extra gentle.

  • Animals are amazing. My two dogs (german shepherd and australian shepherd) have always followed me everywhere so its hard to tell if they are doing it because I'm pregnant or not but my cat, who is definitely her own woman is in LOVE with me now. Every morning while I get ready she follows me into the bathroom and if I sit on the bed while I watch the news she's on my lap purring and rubbing against me. Its cute. Oh, and all 3 of them love to watch me puke in the mornings.....its a little odd having an audience for that.

I also have a really bad anxiety disorder and sometimes I get these horrible panic attacks that seem to come from nowhere (however, they've pretty much disappeared since I've been pregnant...hmmm) anyway, my dog I swear can sense when I'm about to have one. She sits by me and whimpers and it never fails....5 minutes later my chest will start tightening up and I'll go into an anxiety attack. She'll stick by my side the entire time until I chill out.

  • I think it's sweet. I lost my dog in 07' and she used to do the same thing. She was awesome and I'd give anything to still have her here. Enjoy it!

  • Aw sweet. At least he's big enough that you won't miss seeing him and accidentally step on him or trip over him and hurt yourself!

My cat (the naughty one) has been super lovey-dovey, and she keeps wanting to sleep right on top of my stomach. I'm not sure if she's figured out that something's up, or if she's just super happy to have someone home during the day now that school's out.
