I must have made this myself. I'm not sure why it matters where a moderator lives, though. It's an online chat board. There is no requirement to live in the location.

This. As far as I'm concerned, a mod is to keep spammers away, prevent people from stealing identities like on 9-12, etc. We haven't had any trouble with that so who seriously cares where our mod lives. Should the breastfeeding board mod step down after her child weans, for example?

FTR, while I see how IHS's statements could have been seen as argumentative or snarky, I also see that she did try to be conciliatory. I might have reacted similarly on something I felt strongly about too. My own family has told me multiple times that I come off (verbally) as overly defensive and even hostile at times, when I don't mean to. Especially when I feel like I'm being piled on, which she may have felt. Although my "friendship" with her is limited to this board and Facebook, I don't think IRL she is a bad person, just perhaps one with strong opinions and maybe isn't the best at expressing them, just as I'm not always the best verbally. And I know a lot of people here in person and I'd hope most of them don't see me as a *** too. But maybe they do. And finally, I think that people need to stop with the AEs, name calling and purposeful insulting of others and their intelligence. Kiltlifter (who I don't know at all) is just as entitled to her opinion as anyone, and in her job she does have a different view of things, which I respect. But I think it was uncalled for her to basically call IHS stupid and make the Kool Aid comment.

Wow... we needed a post about this. That's crazy! So IHS got fired up about the verdict. We all type on this board and it is really difficult to get tone and such from words we read. IHS has never personally attacked anyone on this board and so what if she lives in Texas. Someone that lives in WA can do a better job moderating a board that's on the web? Craziness IMHO.

I agree with J. Although IHS and I have different opinions on the blame of the CAT, does not mean it needs a whole post. Especially from on AE.

I find it hysterically funny that you are hiding behind and AE, yet find it necessary to call out someone (who used to be a very frequent poster BTW) for not posting enough to defend someone. Do we have to have an up-to-date thread count in order to post on here now?

I remember the Bump wouldnt leave us alone. They posted something once a week looking for a mod. IHS stepped up just so we didn't have to be pestered anymore. It's nice having someone who knows what the Bump is actually thinking, but seeing as mods seem to have a hard time being able to post as just regular Bumpies, I can't see why anyone would want the job.

Second if you read the whole thread it seems that she is aware not only of how she comes at times but also of others feelings towards her so why not just let rest.

I agree. All she did was respond to people's comments about her opinion (which she was totally entitled to). She must have said "let's agree to disagree" 5 or more times. Finally, I don't care where our moderator lives.

I did point out in the thread that if I had offended anyone, they should tell me so I can fix it. Like anyone, I don't respond well to personal attacks. It's too bad these AE's aren't mature enough to do something like that. I would bet that these AE's are passive aggressive, angry people who aren't really liked anyways. Though, steps are being taken to determine who their regular name is.
