What are you saving it for?

The past month or so I've been able to pump and save, only when LO sleeps for long stretches and only needs one boob - I pump the other.

I'm not going back to work, so I'm not saving for that. I was planning on using it when I introduce solids (to mix with cereal and homemade purees), and maybe for some date nights if DH and I want to go out and leave DS with someone.

So my question is this ladies; what are you saving your stash for?

I haven't froze any yet, but I leave a bottle in the fridge so that if I go out, it's there for backup (I try to time it so I don't miss feeding him directly). Or if I'm ready to drop, so I can sleep for a few hours if LO is refusing to stop feeding.

Some moms save enough to cover a vacation away, or to cover a few days on a medication they don't want to risk passing on.

I think I'll buy one pack of bags and then try to fill those. We do have a deep freeze, and then if I decide I don't need it I'll give it away on Human Milk for Human Babies. The closest milk bank to me is Vancouver, and that's just not practical.

I'm saving for date nights, or so hubby can do bedtime sometimes. Obviously, I'll have to pump when I miss a feeding, but DH really wants to be able to put DD to bed sometimes while I put our toddler to bed. We also want her to get occasional bottles so that she will actually take them. I have a couple nephews who wouldn't even take a bottle.

I don't produce enough to even feed DD much less build a stash, but if I could I would have been saving it up for when I went back to work and for date nights and an occasional overnight stay at the grandparents.

I have way too much saved due to oversupply. I'll be rotating that in when I go back to work. The doctor said that babies should not be feed only from a stash because that milk was designed for their needs when it was pumped and not necessarily when you give it to them. His suggestion was to send the oldest to daycare and breastfeed or use the fresh at home. Then if you still have extra you can put that at the back of the stash.

I'm looking into a human milk bank because I can't save that much more in my freezer.

I am saving for when I have to go back to work. I will still be pumping at work, but I want to make sure I have enough for LO in case my supply decreases. Also, I hope that I can quit pumping earlier so I can get back on some medication.

I'm saving it for days where I need a break and leave DS at home with DH when I run errands or whatever. Just to use in case DS gets hungry while I'm out or if I'm running late getting home. I don't have that much saved up, I didn't bother pumping this week because we haven't used anything out of the freezer yet.

I have a lot saved for when I am at work, I still pump there and am still building a stash. I'm glad I started early because I just had my 6 week check up and my dr put me on a BC that might effect my milk supply, however I often get 5oz out of one boob so if I go down to 3oz a boob I will be content. But just in case, I have some back up milk already.
Im also saving it for date nights, or just anytime I want to go out and have more than a drink or two. Especially my friends wedding that I'm in next month.

I am saving for days that I can't pump enough to feed her when I go back to work. And, it's also nice to have some to put in a sippy cup for when she starts solids. It's also nice to have it to mix with cereal instead of water.

For my husband to feed the baby, for when I tutor once a week, for the whole day I am gone at the Buffett concert. for any other time I want to leave my child and for if I want to stop breastfeeding, I have a few extras.

i am not able to pump much, but i'm stgarting to freeze what i can for whrn i go back to work on august 1st.

I don't know!! I have so much I had to move it out of my freezer and into moms deep freezer! I pump before, during, and after work, which is more than I need for baby, so I freeze half and use half the next day. I'm terrified my supply will tank since I'm back to work, so I have plenty of extra just in case

Or if I get sick, or we take a trip... I don't know! It's all just in case

Doc started me on one and I noticed a difference after 1 week! So I stopped taking it.

I got the flu about two weeks after LO was born. I would BF, put LO down and go vomit. I decided that wasn't going to happen again so I'm making sure there is milk for someone else to feed him if I get sick again.
