DD comes home with at least 2 worksheets every day. Sometimes it's 5 or more-- work sheets, cut and paste, pictures/drawings.
Do you keep them all?
I throw out the things that kind of look like scribbles/etc. But I keep a few of my faves in a cabinet. I feel awful throwing them away. (Especially if DD sees them in the trash. I do a "How did that get in there?")
Re: Do you keep EVERYTHING they make?
Exactly this!
I keep almost everything with their hand or foot prints. Other stuff is pretty much tossed unless there's something developmental about it (writing her name, phrases about her BFF du jour, etc). Then I date it and save it--mostly; they do their name stuff almost every day so I don't keep all of those, just a few here and there. Anything with glitter? STRAIGHT into the trash!
I refresh the fridge artwork with stuff they bring home...then discard the old stuff in the recycle bin.
Something I've started doing is putting a hidden discard pile behind the recycle bin in the cupboard. That way if she asks about it a couple days later I have it. But if she doesn't ask about it, it's gone after about a week. The key is to keep it hidden to avoid the seeing it in the trash/recycling.
Absolutely not. I only keep those things that I think are really cute. As an adult, they are not going to care that there is a ghost made out of their hand print or that you kept it.
Things magically disappear after they go to bed.
I will take pictures of everything she makes at outside places (creative critters, library, daycare, etc) and any craft we do together. I will also take a picture of any of her daily colorings/paintings/playdoughs/etc that may be extra cute.
Then other than the seasonal crafts, that I save and pull out at the next holiday for decorating the house, I will send out of the various family members. So every other week, the grandparents, aunties/uncles and god parents get a craft made by Monkey.
What does not make the cut, gets thrown away.
**As for my pictures of the crafts, I am looking at making a Snapfish scrapbook for each year.
I throw away some of it, but alot of it we hang in the garage. Looks cute!
