Few things feel better than getting into a nicely made bed at night, but I don't have the discipline to actually make it every morning. That and C gets up after me.

This! I love a made bed and I especially love crisp fresh sheets!
I love a made bed, I feel accomplished for the day when I go to get into a made bed. DH, however, doesn't share the same outlook and gets up after me. Only on the weekends am I accomplished.
I am a recent convert to making the bed... I used to say "why bother," but then I realized how much making the bed improves the look of the room. It's nice to come home to a neat-looking bedroom, and better still not to struggle to straighten everything up just before bed. DH still doesn't get it, and he'll never do it himself, but oh well. Some days he's still in bed when I leave (like today), and it bothers me that I didn't get to make the bed...

We make our bed every day, but it is mainly because our bedroom is on the main floor of our house, so if someone stops by they would see an unmade bed. If our bedroom was on the second floor, we would make the bed a few times a week...maybe.
I chose only when people are coming over, but I guess I should clarify. I have a nice, expensive comforter with a million pillows etc... That only goes on when people are coming because it takes forever and a year to make but most importantly because our cats sleep on our bed all day and I don't want them ruining it. We just pull up our sheet and blanket to make it presentable.

7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle!
9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.
When I'm not working (eg, true summer vacation for me as a teacher, which is about 4 weeks when you take out the inservices and professional development at the end and start of the school year), it gets made almost daily.
The rest of the time it's only when company comes. DH gets up after me and he doesn't care to do it. That, and he hates the sheets, blankets, etc... tucked into the footboard.
I am the special snowflake. I don't make beds. DH is anal about it. He has attempted to make his half before I even remove myself from my half. He will NOT go to bed at night in an unmade bed. His mama raised him right. Hoping he raises DD right, too.

Same here!! Kevin is super anal about it - he will make the bed to get into bed. Since becoming a SAHM though I make it up everyday.

This is us exactly. I have enjoyed the last few weeks of having a made bed, but it's going out the window in August once we're back to teaching and...honestly, I don't care. It's nice to have a made bed for summers only, I suppose.

I totally agree- I love having a made bed and my favorite day is "clean sheet day" but ours NEVER gets made. I can count in the past year about 3 times that it's been made (on a non-clean sheet day) and that was only when we had company over and were showing the house. It's just one more thing to do in the morning and I would rather have that extra 5 mintues to sleep/get ready than make the bed.

I am totally OCD about making the bed. I cannot leave it unmade and I will not get in it at night if it hasn't been made. I don't let my kids climb on the bed, either. Nothing gets my blood going like a messy, rumpled bed.
And if DH gets up after me, he does his version of "making" it. I always redo it. I don't know what it is, but an unmade bed is something I seriously cannot abide. And you better believe my kids will make their beds when they are old enough and able.
