In the article I read it says you have to have a healthy sex life and be "open" to an orgasm at birth. I'm always open for an orgasm but a velociraptor tore my vagina out at the time of birth...so yeah.

I was much more open to orgasm than I was to shiitting and vomitting everywhere so I want to know what the F happened. Sounds like I got ripped off.

You must have said your positive affirmations incorrectly.

I can't say that with DS #1 the final push was orgasmic by any means, but more of a relief feel.

You guys are hilarious!! No, seriously. There is a release of endorphins after your baby comes out. I did not have an epidural and it was the best feeling I have ever had in my life. Way better than any runners high, orgasm, etc. that I have ever had. But I am sure since you are clearly birth experts, you can tell me what I experienced and what I didn't.

But you're right, it must be a myth because I am sure like 3 girls over on (what board did you come from? Was it a board here or was it LoS or a different board, well wherever it was) didn't experience it must be a tall tale or a crazy myth that only crazy people talk about. Whatever. ::Humungo eyeroll::

I had no pain meds while pushing either.

And if we did a poll, 99.999999999999% of people would say they didn't feel anything remotely like an orgasm.

i can't imagine if i told my husband that i had an orgasm while a baby was coming out of my vagina hahahahaha.....getting sexual pleasure from a baby being expelled from your uterus is slightly disturbing, your body releases endorphins cause you are in PAIN, not because you are having an orgasm. i really can't even believe this thread, i am still laughing picturing this--

two nonmedicated births and i felt anything but orgasmic. more like "get this f'king thing out of me" but it did feel good to not have a giant baby in my vagina anymore. hey, i guess that could be considered orgasmic? kinda like brownies.

You think brownies are semi-orgasmic too? Yes This whole idea just seems wrong.. giving birth to my child = orgasm is just creepy

  • clearly they need to make Oxytocin in pill form. nom nom nom   lol

They didn't make Oxytocin into a pill, but they did make it into an inhalant.. and they found that when autistic people inhaled it, it allowed them to connect and empathize with others more easily.

Oxytocin is an amazing natural drug that is far more powerful than we know... but when we are afraid during birth the Oxytocin gets blocked and overpowered by adrenalin... which does anything BUT create orgasm.

I agree that it's possible to have an orgasm while giving birth.  I just don't think that many women in our society are open to it.

And yeah, it's borderline creepy to connect orgasms to childbirth... but... from what I've read it's not quite the same as the one DH gives you... it seems like it's more of a euphoric high with rolling waves of intense sensation.  Not sexy, but sensual maybe?  Why would it NOT be possible?  Same organs and chemicals involved!

... and, surely, if I have an orgasmic birth, I'll let u all know.

  • I love reading these posts, and the, um, passion, with which they are stated.

Although, these boards in general make me a bit nervous, I've encountered some really harsh folks on here that make me almost afraid to post...

My daughter was a c-section, my son (due in 2 weeks) is a planned c-section...and I question now, just what I may/may not be missing out on by not going VBAC this time...though, the boy is still transverse and shows no signs of dropping...

I initially told my doc I wanted to try a natural birth...but I actually let her talk me into a planned c. Now I spend my time waivering on the thought that maybe I should have stuck to my guns for a VBAC to just once, try to have the birth experience, rather than show up to the hospital, hours of prep, 15 minutes of surgery, lots of great drugs and we're done. It's a right of passage I may not get to know (if this baby sticks to the planned schedule and doesn't come early)...
