Would you wear pants to your shower?

And I mean dress pants and like a pretty flowy top or something.  I do not wear skirts or dresses ever in the first place (it's probably been over 3 years since I have).  But I thought maybe I should for my shower, but that along with my GIGANTIC swollen ankles, really makes me not want to (and the cankles start in the morning and go all day long). They are really not pretty.

FWIW, my shower is going to be very small (10 women), with very non-dressy people (unlike myself; I do dress up, often, but with pants), but at an upscale venue.  Very random to be honest.

WWYD?

  • Whatever you feel comfy in is what you should wear!

I'm wearing a maxi dress but if for some reason I look like a blimp in those, I'll be wearing capris.

    I say go for it!

A close friend of mine had a baby shower not too long ago and she wore pants and a flowy top and looked super cute.  Personally, I would wear a dress, but purely for comfort reasons :)
  • Wear whatever you are comfortable with! I wore dressy pants and a tunic sweater, nice and warm and comfy (Nov shower in the Midwest :))

  • You wear what makes you comfy!!

I'm wearing a long dress, with shorts under of course so I don't start a fire :)

Dresses are so much more comfy than pants to me right now.

  • With my DD, I wore a knee length skirt & had to worry about flashing people when I was opening gifts.  I would definitely go for pants---especially if it will make you feel more comfortable!!  You will have a better time!! :)

  • I say to wear whatever you're comfortable in. I'm planning to wear a skirt instead of a dress because I haven't found anything that I like.

  • I think pants would be fine.  I've pretty much been living in dresses this pregnancy because I find that they are much more comfortable than pants for me.

I think dressy pants and a nice top would look great.  You can even dress it up more with jewelry and shoes :)

  • For sure I would.  I was planning on getting some capris and a shirt but found a dress so I went that direction instead.  I would think that if you could find a nice pair of linen pants and a nice top that would be good, and cooler than wearing jeans or another heavier weight fabric.

This, I wore Motherhood canvas capris (shower was in Palm Beach FL, hot!) and a long shirt almost dress looking tunic. I wore pants because I was sitting on a chair unwrapping gifts forever, don't think a dress would have been so modest.

  • I wore jeans. My shower was supposed to be a surprise, but I kinda knew and wore what I would normally wear so my mom wouldn't know that I knew.

  • I wore a dress to the shower i had when i was with my son, but that was only because everyone kept saying they wanted to see my big big belly and i was uncomfortable with it, so i was passive-agressive. I figured in a dress they couldnt look underneath lol. Wear whatever you are comfortable in, after all its a party for the baby, and baby is most comfortable when you are :)
