I had one of my friends over who has a 4 month old and we started talking about swaddling. She said her pedi told her that by 2 months she shouldn't be swaddling anymore or it was create a dependency. I never even though about that - Dee is almost 2 months and we still swaddle her (arms out) every night. Should we be thinking about stopping?

We swaddled my DS the full 14 weeks using the Miracle Blanket.
With this little girl, I've been slowly trying the "one-arm-out" swaddle to see how it works for her, and she's still flailing a lot so I know she still needs it. That's how I knew DS was good without it. When he could go with one arm out okay, that was my key.
Good luck. I know lots of babies that are swaddled all the way to 6 months and beyond!! For some, it works that long and they really need it.
