My husband has been doing CF for about a year and absolutely loves it. Before I got pregnant I was active with running and doing Hot Yoga. But then I got really sick in my first trimester. I pretty much stopped doing anything but laying in bed. Now that I finally have energy back and don't feel nauseous every minute of the day, I started working out again. I quickly realized that just walking (decided not to go back to running) and doing my prenatal yoga video was not enough. My husband introduced me to
crossfitmom.com and I was hooked. I joined his box on Thursday and am going through a modified protocol. My arms are sore but I have really enjoyed meeting everyone and having that "gym" atmosphere" again. Plus there's another woman there who is due a day before me. I'm really excited about keeping in shape and being better prepared for labor. Anyone else out there doing this program?
Re: Any other CrossFit Moms out there?
Me! Although I'm not at a box. I did a little bit of Crossfit for a couple of months before I got pg, switched jobs in another part of town so quit my old box (too far away), and got pg before I joined a new one. Once I got past the first tri terribleness, I followed crossfitmom WOD's at my little free office gym several times a week. I love it! Now, I'm probably going a little TOO easy on myself, and scale back weights & movements to whatever feels most comfortable, but I'm 36+ weeks and still getting to my gym to do some kind of WOD a few days a week and feel great.
We'll see if it helps L&D at all (I hope so!), but even if not, I am sure that working out all pregnancy has helped me stay pretty healthy and feel good, even as I get towards the end! My weight gain has been great (+22lbs, and I was a little underweight to begin with) and I'm "all belly", I haven't had any swelling (still wearing my wedding rings, even in this crazy heat!), and its been a good way for me to still just take some time to take care of myself. I totally recommend it, and fully intend to join a box as soon as I'm recovered to get back in a real CF program pp.
I'm also a CrossFit mom. I'm only 8 weeks, but am continuing with my workouts. I had done a lot of reading before continuing, just to be sure about heart rates, etc. I have lightened my weights and am not running or jumping, as my twins are from ICSI and my doc said not to. I actually feel better after I work out and have more energy for a bit, until I crash at 9pm. I also eat Paleo, so that seems to be helping with food cravings as well.
I'm hoping this all helps out with the labor and delivery as the other crossfit moms have found. Then I will continue afterwards as well. It's early, but I'm so excited!
I wouldn't call myself a CrossFit Mom but I definitely visit the site daily and will do some of the workouts that I can do at home. I did crossfit once a week before getting pregnant to supplement my workouts and plan to continue doing so, even after the baby is born. I really think working out so much has helped me have a fairly easy pregnancy so far, my weight gain has been pretty minimal and the baby is healthy my MW says.
Hopefully I won't be eating my words when I approach my EDD because I'm feeling great so far and would like for it to stay this way!

I started CF after I had my baby.
I'm hooked, and will continue throughout future pregnancies.
Another CF mom here! Prior to pregnancy I had been working out at my local box for just over 2 years. I will be 30 weeks tomorrow and have been CrossFitting through my pregnancy, typically 5 days a week. Of course I needed to make a few modifications as time has gone on, I stopped doing box jumps around 18 weeks, traded sit ups/V ups for toes to bar around 22 weeks, stopped my heavy lift day around week 25 and dropped some weights on lifts in the last few weeks (95# C&J to 75#, 75# OHS to 55#, 95# snatch to 65#, I?m stilling lifting fairly heavy on DL/FS/BS). Love, love, love CF and what it has done for my body, mind and spirit through the pregnancy. Not to mention it?s a great community of very supportive and like minded people who have been great support and resources for pregnancy and staying healthy through pregnancy. Also love that it is something that my husband and I always do together. To date I?ve gained a total of 14 lbs. I have stayed mostly paleo, slight deviation in the first tri as I was sick most of the time. Stick with it ladies! It?s totally worth it!

I totally second Marks Daily Apple as a great resource if you are trying to go Paleo/Primal. I should clarify, I'm more "Primal" than strict Paleo (I eat dairy, and Mark's is a little more supportive of the 80/20 rule - for example, we had sweet potatoes with dinner last night, and I love that he okay's the occasional glass of red wine and good dark chocolate!).
Generally speaking, we just eat meat or fish for dinner with a couple sides of non-starchy veggies. Fruit, full fat dairy, eggs, or bacon for breakfast. Lunch is typically a big salad for me (mix it up everyday, and make your own salad dressings - don't buy the bottled stuff). I find dinner recipes online for whatever I'm in the mood for, and just tweak as necessary. Eliminate anything that calls for sugars, flours, breading, and I use spices and shop carefully for condiments/sauces (like mustards or tomato sauces) to ensure there are no added sugars, soy/veg oils, or salts. Ground nuts are a good breading substitute; lettuce leaf wraps for tacos instead of tortillas. Get a little creative! It doesn't have to be hard.
