3rd Trimester

XP: Welcome to the world little Rylie.

July 4th, 2011.

At 4 am, I woke up with severe heartburn and some different contractions. (I mean different as in every time I'd contract I'd feel like I would need to make a BM.) They were at about 7 mins apart; and after several trips to the bathroom I came to the conclusion that I didn't need to go.

By the time 5:30 rolled around the contractions were getting more frequent. (I hadn't gone in because I've been in there many times for false labor and timely BH) I woke up my mom and told her we needed to go in just to be safe. So my mom, my FI and I piled into the truck and drove the 6 mins to the hospital. I was mentally prepared to go in, be hooked up, then sent home.

Days before, I had gone to the doctor and was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I came in and was hooked up. at about 6:00 am, they checked me and I was 1 1/2cm and 80% effaced. They kept track of my contractions for another 2 hours and checked me again 3cm and 80% effaced. Since I had cervical change they admitted me to my own room and let me walk to help labor progress.

Things started to slow down and there wasn't much baby excitement for a while.

At about 11:30 am they gave me a little bit of medicine to take the edge off of the pain and pitocin to help move things along. I fell asleep shortly after and got a nice nap.

When I was checked again at 3:30 pm I was 4 cm and 80% effaced. They decided to bump up the pitocin, and let me have an epidural. I was in heaven shortly after.

I took another nap and woke up at about 4:50 pm and could feel some contractions and tons of pressure. They checked me and I was fully dilated and ready to push. My doctor came in and everything happened so fast!
