This is crrrraaaaazzzzyyyyy. How can she not be guilty? Why in the hell would you not report your child missing then lie and lie and lie some more unless you had something to do with their death. Where did they find these idiots on the jury?
I am just so sick about this. But it is all in God's hands now. OR...Karma. I think there are a lot of really pissed off people out there and I think someone might take justice into their own hands (ala Dexter).
I totally believe she had some involvement in Caylee's death. But the prosecution failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she killed Caylee. The jurors aren't idiots--they did what they were supposed to do.

I am not so shocked by the verdict. The state of FL didn't have much
of a case. There was no direct evidence and everything they presented
was circumstantial. I am not saying she is innocent, just that our legal
system doesn't allow guilt to be placed on persons based on
speculation.
I personally believe she is guilty and I wish that
they were able to prove that. What parent doesn't report their child
missing and creates such a web of lies. It's sad that a baby girl lost
her life and now there are still so many unanswered questions.
Reasonable doubt. We cannot convict based on emotion, and the court of public opinion does not matter. There was nothing beyond reasonable doubt proven.
That isn't to say she had nothing to do with it, but I don't see how anyone is shocked.

It's funny to me seeing where you are all from and your reactions! I live in Orlando, 15 minutes from where this all happened, it is chaotic here right now. I don't know how much you guys are getting on news channels up there but it is absolutely crazy right now.
The jury didn't get as much information that we all got watching the news and following the case for three years, which is fair, but they did what they were brought to do.. there was reasonable doubt and I think anyone who can't agree with that is struck with a lot of emotion, as they should be. It's crazy, everyone here thought AT LEAST child abuse or manslaughter..
The only thing that is making anyone feel ok is that her life will not go on wether she got off or not. She will never work in the state of Florida, and she can't live around here for fear of Vigilante justice, which seeing that you all are coast to coast, apparently will be an issue anywhere. There is a lawsuit for defamation of character for Xanaida Gonzales, so I'm thinking Casey will sell the whole story for a million dollars, pay off Xanaida, and move out of country..
Poor Caylee
OJ.. Casey... I guess this is strike 2 for Florida, huh?

I agree she will probably move out of the country, for now at least. But I really don't think this case is going to be "the new OJ". I don't think anyone will remember it in a few years.
I don't strike Florida for OJ or Casey. I strike them for never having found Rilya Wilson. That one still hurts my heart.

As a fellow Floridian - I would suggest she leave the state, vigilante justice will be served, I am sure of it.
The reason OJ moved to Florida is so that he could sink his money into property and couldn't be sued for it. In the state of Florida you cannot take a persons home from them in a law suit. So the best way to safe gaurd millions of dollars back then was to buy real estate. Not such a good investment in recent years though.
Also, as a Floridian, I must say I did not have a hand in getting GWB elected. (I do not follow politics, but even I knew he was a moron!)
Its insane here in Tampa too...everything seems to happen in Florida, I swear.
Im on board with the not enough evidence for murder argument. But the child abuse charge should of been a no-brainer. She didnt report her child missing for a MONTH. How is that NOT abuse?

At some point people have to use common sense, if something looks and smells like ***, it's probably ***, not brown *** flavored icing. I believe without any doubt that she had a hand in the murder and now she's free to go all because half the time in America you can be dripping in a dead persons blood and have the murder weapon in hand and someone will still say it doesn't mean anything.
This case has made me so glad that jurors are supposed to rule on evidence, not hunches, feelings, or scenarios created in their own minds.
Yeah, it's always comforting when people murder their children and walk. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I didn't know you were there and witnessed it all happen. My mistake.
I hope if any of us is ever on trial that we have a fair and impartial jury. That is my point. I don't know any more than you do if she did it or not. But I do know that the prosecution didn't prove anything beyond reasonable doubt.
I never said for a second that I don't think she did it. But juries do not rule based on emotion, and for that I am thankful. Sure she looks guilty as sin, and was a terrible mother, but that in itself is not evidence.

Circumstantial evidence is still evidence, that is why it can be presented. Also, if she was not guilty her actions would have been different and she would have had a plausible explanation for the course of events. Even if it was an accident, which I doubt, she should have still been guilty of manslaughter or negligent homicide.
I think it is sad that so many people fail to come to conclusions that are so painfully obvious to everyone else. Think of it this way, if you saw your husband go into a hotel with another woman, stay for an hour, come out looking frumpled and happy, and he could not explain it, wouldn't you conclude he as having an affair, or would you say he wasn't because you didn't witness the act? This whole case was a joke and I agree with the people who are rooting for vigilante justice.

The not guilty verdict doesn't mean the jury said she was innocent. It means they didn't feel there was good enough evidence to convict. Your analogy is ridiculous.

Wouldn't everyone rather guilty people walk... than innocent people suffer? The jury did it's job, if they hadn't the judge would have overruled them. As sad and heartwrenching as it is....
So, My question is.... Why wasn't she charged for negligence? If any of us (Which I hope would NEVER happen) failed to report our children missing for a month, you could bet we'd end up with some kind of punishment.
All it takes is ONE person on a jury to not see the person guilty... and that ends the case.

The state has the burden of proof beyond reasonable doubt and their case was entirely circumstantial.
