Rescheduled B-day Party-Food? WWYD?

So we are going to attempt to do T's party this Friday around dinner time. Our original plan was all BBQ food...chicken, salads, corn, etc. We had all the salads made when we had to cancel her party so the thought of making them all again and me working today, tomorrow, and Friday is stressful. Our families said just order pizza and wings for Friday night and say the heck with the BBQ food. The thing is I'm one of those dorks who love to party plan and do little details and part of the food was to go along with her theme. We were doing a Wiggles party so I had hot potato casserole, cold spaghetti salad, fruit salad, and mashed banana cookies. So if we did pizza I wouldn't have those.....I know in the grand scheme of things that's probably not important and no one will really notice if their not there, but I just really wanted to do it.

What would you do?

Honestly, I would do pizza and wings.  I think everyone would understand completely, although your original menu sounds wonderful!

And btw, what are they doing to me at work?  Part of me is thankful I'm not there, and part of me is scared!  Ha ha!

  • first, glad T is feeling better!

Don't stress yourself out... just order pizza and wings. And then just do one or 2 simple sides to go with.

I totally know how you feel, because I am the same way w/ party planning. But in this case, I would give into the easy way... with a couple homemade touches! Everyone will have fun either way. And, I know pizza and wings are always a big hit w/ my family and friends!

  • I'm like you- I love the little details of a party and I would be cranky about not having them but if the pizza and wings are easier- I say go for it...

  • Is any of it still ok?  How about those cookies (also can you post the recipe?)  I would be bummed too, but might end up doing the pizza and wings or a sub tray.  What is the most time consuming part of the food, the chicken?  Or you could get a few of those $5 BBQ rotisserie chickens at wegmans?  Would that still work?
  • As the mom of a former Wiggles fan I have to say- Super cute menu!!!

That being said, I would just go for the pizza & wings. Way easier on a limited time frame.
