*AnneShirley* -- f/u question re: storage

I saw your reply to me on a previous thread about the gift bag storage method (thanks for fixing my hyperlink, btw).  You mentioned that this was a good storage solution but only for a very small stash. Since I'm just getting started with pumping and storage, I just wondered if you could extrapolate on that thought.  I have about 75-90 oz stored in 3-5oz bags, and I'm just about ready to start gift bag #2.  I have a lot of room for more gift bags, in my freezer and that was my plan, BUT -- I am really interested to understand how I could make this better.

(I totally can't picture the First Years storage container transferred to shoe box method that was mentioned in other threads.  It seems like those methods would take up more space with the bulk of the milk in the bottom of the bag vs laying flat.   What am I missing?)

Sorry -- I'm COMPLETELY not trying to over-analyze this.  I am genuinely interested in using the best method and am tempted to ask for pictures of other methods!!  :-)

 Thanks a bunch.

Re: *AnneShirley* -- f/u question re: storage

  • LOL! I see the gift bag storage method as one for a stash kept in a regular fridge freezer. My method is more for a deep freezer or chest freezer.

In the fridge freezer. The container squeezes them up so they freeze flat.

This is how they fit in the plastic $1 shoeboxes

It keeps them neat and tidy in the freezer. Ours is very small so it helps maximize space and none gets lost.
