Does anyone take their pets in for acupuncture?

My dog is starting to get stiff joints. Someone suggested acupuncture, has anyone done it? I found a few places online, but it's pretty spendy.

We did acupuncture on my dog as a teen for epilepsy. It can work wonders for many ailments! Also, what sort of joint supplements are you currently using? Those can make a big difference for dogs with minimal-average achiness/arthritis/etc. I would be happy to recommend some excellent ones if you would like. If you are not doing those I might suggest trying them first before doing acupuncture unless were're taking about severe mobility issues.

We do it for our old gal. It is costly, for sure. In my experience it works only if you stay on top of it. Trying to stretch time between treatments decreases the positive results. My dog also had some type of laser heat treatment done on her knees a few times too. No idea what that was called, but it was helpful for a bit. I'm pretty sure our vet is a closed practice, but I'm sure there are others. I've seen acupuncture work wonders on horses too. Supplements are super helpful too, as pps mentioned, but do give them time to work. I'm always trying to find cheap ways to manage my pack, but really the trick is to stay on top of the treatments, supplements, and exercise. (chubby dogs have a harder time aging).
