January 2012 Moms

I am so ready.....

I am so ready for this dreaded morning, afternoon, evening, and nighttime sickness to end. I would like to have my stomach back to doing its normal job, starting the digestive process (rather than ending the process prematurely!!!). Zofran hasn't helped at all and thus far I've lost 11 pounds since I got pregnant. I see my doctor Friday and I am going to beg pathetically for something else to try, like phenegran.

Re: I am so ready.....

  • Seriously just came on here to post something very similar. I have a couple of "good" days, then back to feeling disgusting. Today is the worst day in a while...I am so done with this all day sickness. I am down 7 pounds and am thinking I will ask the doctor for an alternative next week when I go because the zofran is not helping :(  Good luck to you, hope this part is over soon...
    Anxiously awaiting baby # 3! Due May 14, 2017!

  • I hear you.  I am soooo sick of being sick.  I really hope this doesn't last the whole pregnancy *again*.

  • He told me at my last visit that by the time I saw him again I would probably be feeling fabulous. Boy, was he wrong. I feel worse now than I did a few weeks ago. I have good days and bad days too....the good days are great and the bad days are awful and I end up throwing up everything I try to eat or drink. Hopefully we can get some relief soon!!

  • I've been sick since the 7th week and throwing up frequently..sometimes twice a day! I'm a couple of days ahead of you and yesterday was the best day I've had in a month! Zofran didn't help me at first so they put me on half a tablet of Unisom, 25 mg of B6 and 1 zantac or pepcid twice a day. I still take the zofran during the day. I'm trying to only take the other stuff before bed so i have a nausea free morning. Luckily I'm a teacher and all of my sickness has NOT been at work. I don't know how I would do this otherwise! I might have to schedule all of my future pregnancies like this!
  • I am ready to have my life back. I can't get to work on time because I get sick as I walk out the door no matter what time I get up.  I come home just as sick.  Thankfully Zofran works for me BUT it gives me major headaches that Tylenol doesn't help and they get so bad I throw up from pain so yes I can take it but only at my own risk.  I really really just want to be somewhat normal again.

  • i completely understand... maybe ask for a zofran pump - that did work for me during my 1st pregnancy and with this one, im getting one.. with phegrean, the downside to it is that it makes you very drowsy

  • My m/s started at the beginning of month 2, it subsided for about 2 weeks, then came back Monday with a vengence. And I had a dentist appt Monday as well. It was all I could do to not puke on the dentist. My friend who had morning sickness really bad ended up getting phenegran and she said she felt like a new woman. I hate to hear you're sick. Feel better soon.
