Acupuncture anyone?

I am full of things to post right now...

Went to my first acupuncture visit. I thought it was amazing. She could tell all these health things just by feeling my pulse and looking at my tongue. She even told me my fallopian tubes are good and open...wild!

I am curious to see what results come from it. I went initially to treat my anxiety but she decided that my kidneys were not supporting my system well enough causing anxiety, heart palpitations, headaches, cramps/heavy periods (from pre-pregnancy/miscarriage).

She felt that the m/c was from the kidney which has caused weak blood flow.

Interesting information, don't know if I am taking it all as the honest truth. But, certainly interesting.

All in all, it was relaxing and she was so informative.

Anyone else try acupuncture?

AND I sure met my deductible this year so no more out of pocket. My insurance pays for 20 visits. I cannot believe how progressive Blue Shield is!

I did it to reduce stress and try to regulate my cycles. Didn't really help with regulating my cycles but it certainly left me feeling relaxed and calm afterwards.

I just went for my first acupuncture session on Monday. It was interesting for sure. She has me making a lot of diet modifications that mirror what is in the book Making Babies. I am going for fertility and anxiety. They only thing that leaves me worried is she only wants to see me 1x month until I get PG then more frequent, whereas standard protocol seems to be 1x week. How often are you seeing your acupuncturist?

How cool! I haven't done it yet but I want to. My yoga studio is thinking of doing it and offering groups to cut the cost. Hope it happens soon, I'd love to try it.

That's awesome! Do you mean Blue Cross Blue Shield? How did you find your acupuncturist? I'd love to try this as well!

1. I think Blue Shield is the same as Blue Cross.

2. It really did not hurt. A few of the pins, I felt an ever so slight poke.

I am thinking of doing it with my next IVF cycle since RE has one within the office. I didn't want to shell out the money but I think it may be worth it to know I pulled out all the stops. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I was just talking to DH about this last week. I've been reading up on Acupuncture and treatment for depression as well as PCOS. There is supposed to be alot of benefits and even help with the TTC process. I had a friend who struggled for 2 years to get pg, finally did acupuncture, and got KU after the first treatment. I know it's not always that simple. And I could use the tension release regardless. I'm hoping to start next month. This month I just could not squeeze it in.

I have been doing it on and off since last November. I find it very relaxing, and since I'm doing IVF in the fall, I've read that it helps to start 3 months before IVF to help with the process.
