Warrior Dash? Tough Mudder?

My husband and I are signed up to do our second Warrior Dash in mid-August.  For those of you who don't know, a Warrior Dash is a ~3.2mile run with 13 obstacles including tires, tunnels, cargo nets, mud crawl, etc.  It is a lot of fun.  We did it last year and had a great time.

This year (god willing) I'll be about 10w pg for the Warrior Dash.  I am contemplating still doing the Warrior Dash but just for fun.

Would I be crazy to do it?  I'm not concerned about most of the obstacles, they sound more difficult than they are.  The only one I'm worried about is swimming through a creek.  Last year it was FREEZING!  I wonder if I can skip that obstacle and still participate.

Thoughts?

Re: Warrior Dash? Tough Mudder?

  • MH did a Warrior Dash a few weeks ago, and a Metro Dash last weekend.  They look like a ton of fun, I would totally do it if I were you.  At 37+ weeks pg, it was not an option for me, but at 10 you should be just fine, especially if you are used to excercising already.  Ask before the race starts if you feel uncomfortable at any point, how you can just skip whatever the obstacle is b/c you are pg, I'm sure they'd understand.

    Do it and have fun!

  • Go for it! As long as you don't do anything that could hit you in the stomach, I'd think you should be fine. At 10 weeks you won't be showing so you won't have a belly in the way! My husband is signed up for a Tough Mudder next winter, but it's a guys weekend so I'm not allowed to go. =( I'd rather try a Warrior Dash first anyway!

    Have fun and post pictures!

  • I am doing a Warrior Dash in August and when reading the FAQ I'm pretty sure it said you could skip obstacles, but that your time wouldn't count if you did.

Mud run and camping at the same time!  I can?t wait to ?escape the weakday?? at Rebel Race

I just registered to go camping all weekend at REBEL RACE Indiana to watch my husband and my son run. My husband is running the 5k and my son is doing the 15k. I?m going to take pictures of them crawling through the mud- haha.   I?m only going for the fireworks and camp fire. Is anyone else camping out at this race?? The website is www.rebelrace.com

  • I was signed up to do a Warrior Dash while pregnant, and decided not to do it. When I looked at the course there were a couple things I would have had to skip. B/w that, and the fact that I was puking pretty often at that point, it would not have been fun for me. Eta...oops, just realized this was an old post!

  • Hi, I am just curious did you run this race?  I just found out I am about 5 weeks along and am signed up for the Tough Mudder next weekend.  My hubby and I have been training super hard (doing things like 100 minutes of sprint/job intervals and then doing plyo circuts afterwards and we just finished a marathon not that long ago too) so we are in good enough shape but I am just a bit nervous about doing it while pregnant.....I am wondering how the race went if you did it?
