So you and DH are watching TV together.

1. Who holds the remote?

DH always needs to hold it. Seriously, before we lived together I assumed he'd be way more evolved than that, but legit, he CLUTCHES that thing!

2. What do you want to watch?

Cooking shows, Gilmore Girls, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, any 1/2 Thursday night show on NBC during the regular season

3. What does he want to watch?

Shows about physics, WWII, old Star Trek episiodes. He also loves to watch anything with the words "Mummy", "Ancient", or "Secret" in the title.

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

Nature shows---seriously, we watch a TON of them

True crime anything---we love Forensic Files, City Confidential, etc

Any incarnation of Law and Order EXCEPT Criminal Intent

Red Sox games

I do. Dh has no clue how to channel surf. He has sat watching the Spanish channel for 10 minutes before he realized it was in Spanish. He also sits on every channel for 30+ seconds before he can tell what is on.

2. What do you want to watch?

VH1 celebreality shows, Jeopardy, Days of Our Lives, cartoons, any L&O except CI.

3. What does he want to watch?

The news, CNN, History Channel,

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

We watch a lot of Travel Channel, History Channel, HGTV, L&O:SVU, Two and a Half Men, HIMYM, New Adventures of Old Christine, Family Guy. Or if we can't agree on something we watch an episode of a series we are watching on Netflix. Currently we are watching Eureka.

-I always hold the remote. I am better at the rewind/fast forward than he is.

-I will always choose a reality show, a game show, or some TLC show or a rerun of Friends.

-Sports, of course, or the cartoons like Family Guy, etc. Or, dramas that I don't watch- Sons of Anarchy, for example.

-We agree on most regular prime-time shows. We watch everything from Weeds to Grey's Anatomy, with sitcoms thrown in. When LO comes, we are going to have to cut down our tv schedule. We have A LOT of shows!

That would be me. I always need to be in control. Blame it on OCD and DH is bad with fast forwarding commercials when we DVR things.

Cop and Hospital Shows: Law and Order, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Hawthorne Reality: Big Brother, American Idol, The Voice, SYTYCD, Survivior....

3. What does he want to watch?

Right now he's big into East Bound and Bound, but since he is a land surveyor he watches a lot of shows about how things are built, Yankees and Jets games...

Top Chef, Food Network, True Blood....

Usually DH, but if he's also doing something else or if he's falling asleep then me. I don't care about TV very much, so I generally don't care.

2. What do you want to watch?

We agree on a lot, but for stuff I like and he hates - cheesy movies that I've seen a million times, high school drama like 90210 (but NOT Glee), and America's Best Dance Crew. Oh and HGTV shows where they remodel, or house shopping shows where the cost of living is higher than where I live (if it's lower, it pisses me off and I don't want to watch. "I can get how much house!? For how much money?! Shut this off.")

3. What does he want to watch?

Again, we mostly agree, but he's got a few shows that I hate, like Swamp People and that show where they bid on storage units and any of the pawn shop shows, and those real life prison shows - Lockdown, I think it's called? Oh, and Jersey Shore. Blech.

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

Most things - we watch Jeopardy pretty much every night. All the Gordon Ramsay shows, lots of Nova and stuff on PBS, Made and True Life on MTV,

Red Sox games, hockey games when either the Bruins (his team) or the Flyers (my team) are playing. And we watch a lot of Netflix shows and documentaries.

I don't watch alot of TV so we usually just watch whatever. Sometimes I watch his crap and sometimes he watches my crap.

I watch a lot of guilty pleasure reality TV - real housewives of new jersey, the real world, 16&pregnant, Teen Mom, etc.

3. What does he want to watch?

He doesn't really watch much but if he does, he prefers to get in to a series and watch it all. He does like watching sports though, baseball and hockey (but hasn't been as in to hockey lately).

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

We watch Mad Men together, we watched a couple seasons of Dexter together. That's it recently - in the past we've watched the full series of Sopranos, Oz, The Shield. Neither of us are big TV watchers now.

We've been rewatching the entire series of The Wire lately and loving it just as much this time around. Best show ever.

We watch some of each others favorites and then sometimes the compromise if none of the above is on is to watch HGTV or food network. He tolerates all of mine other than MTV and I watch all of his other than game of thrones.

VERY few. We normally just don't watch TV together, but if we do we will watch some HGTV or crime shows like The First 48 or something like that.

I have the TV habits of a 14 year old. Teen Mom, Glee, and So You Think You Can Dance are all shows I like to watch that DH refuses.

We watch How I Met Your Mother, Law and Order, and occasionally House.

Fox News (almost obsessively), anything on Afghanistan and Iraq

We love to watch all kinds of things together.

DH. I am terrible at it and usually I do something else while we watch TV (read, surf, knit, etc.) so I don't pay much attention.

2. What do you want to watch?

Of shows he doesn't like, I like Project Runway, Teen Mom/16 and PG, most Bravo shows, and some craft shows on KERA. To be honest, I don't watch a lot of TV when I'm alone.

3. What does he want to watch?

Fox Soccer Net, House, and Mystery Diagnosis are the only thing he likes that I don't.

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

The Daily Show, game shows, Sportscenter/sports, some HGTV and Food Network, Top Chef, and we like all of the same sitcoms (Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, etc. when they are on). We rarely watch TV separately and we usually have it on while doing other things (cooking, reading, surfing, etc.).

I do. I actually said to him last night "If you can't fast-forward through the commericials then you don't get to hold the remote." We record everything and rarely watch anything live.

2. What do you want to watch?

Reality tv (Kardashians, Master Chef, Ice Road Truckers, Top Chef...), Fringe, The Office, 30 Rock, 48 Hours Mystery, Grey's Anatomy, HGTV and more. Yes, I watch too much and am going to go through withdrawal when we cut back after LO is born.

3. What does he want to watch?

He's usually a good sport and will watch what I am with a few exceptions (i.e., Grey's). He likes the History Channel.

1. Who holds the remote?

Almost exclusively DH. I generally don't care what's on TV. If he puts something on that I absolutely cannot stand, I will get out the laptop. The one thing that irks me is when we are both into a show and then a commercial comes on and he must channel surf. WHY!?!? We both like what's on, who cares what else is on??? Grr.

2. What do you want to watch?

News, history shows, crime shows (real ones such as the ones that take you into jails and such, like on A&E or truTv), Mike and Molly, "special" shows like Dateline specials or those ones that have candid cameras or "what would you do" type of programming.

3. What does he want to watch?

Anything racing related or car related. He likes a lot of shows, actually.

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

True crime, "reality" crime shows, like mentioned above. Um, news. We don't have cable (gasp!) so we are limited. We only watch the cable shows when we are at the folks houses.

usually me. Dh has this horrible habit of switching the channel every time a commercial comes on, but never seems to switch it back. So we end up seeing 10 minutes of three different shows in a half hour. I get SO annoyed, so usually take over surfing responsibilities.

Reality TV (gasp!) like Real Housewives, Teen Mom, etc. Old episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Friends, or SATC. Science/health related shows.

3. What does he want to watch?

Anything on the Military channel, History Channel, or Discovery (Deadliest Catch, etc).

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

We love the same network shows: How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, The Office, and Modern Family. We usually agree on movies and documentaries, so we watch a lot of instant Netflix via the Wii.

Given I read ahead to question 4, the only things that are really more me than DH are probably 19 Kids and Counting, Melissa & Joey, Glee

The only shows that are really more him are Deadliest Catch, Some show about Gangs that he likes, Taboo, baseball.

We agree on most TV, we'll even watch with the other at times. Some of our favorites are Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Psych, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother.

I'm obsessed with Boardwalk Empire. Anything on Discovery ID, Crime Investigation channel, Discovery channel, documentaries about freaky stuff, Nightmare next Door, 20/20, Dateline... I'm weird.

3. What does he want to watch?

Anything on Spike or FX, shows about cars and trucks being re-done, shows about boats, how it's made. etc. He's not really into sports all that much.

We watch Dateline, 20/20, food shows, Tosh.O, documentaries. He refuses to watch my real life crime scene shows that I'm obsessed with.

3. What does he want to watch? He doesn't watch any shows that I don't like. But every once in a while when nothing else is on he'll watch 100 ways to die and I absolutely hate that show.

I should preface this by stating that we don't watch all that much tv. I mean it is on a lot, but we don't have mroe than one or two shows a season that we follow.

It is usually on the couch between us.

2. What do you want to watch?

I like cooking shows, things on the Science Channel, History Channel, NatGeo. I rarely put on the big networks.

3. What does he want to watch?

Depending on the season, sports. Also, he likes tuning into those "world's dumbest" shows

4. What are your "compromise"/things that you both agree on shows?

We watch Deadliest Catch religiously, Game of Thrones. But it is not a compromise, we really enjoy these shows. Also, we both enjoy antiques roadshow and history/ science programs.

Sports.

We watch every Brewer game and when they aren't playing we watch golf, basketball, even bowling.

Pretty much any movie thats on or the common TV shows that are always on TBS or Fox. Family Guy, Friends, How I met your Mother, The Office, Everybody Loves Raymond...ect.

3. What does he want to watch?

The same TV shows as me but he'll watch the history channel. Or Pawn Stars. Nascar anything. The News channels.

Twins games if they're on and if they're interesting at all.

Like I said all the TV shows from above is pretty much our nightly TV scheduling:) or a good movie that maybe on that we both agree on

DH 95% of the time, But he channel surfs incessantly and I hate it, so occasionally he will be nice and let me have it for five minutes.

Judge Judy, Law and Order SVU, some reality shows, chick flicks

3. What does he want to watch?

Some show about loggers. Some show about whaling and greenpeace. Something about conspiracy theories.

It is sick how often we end up watching some True TV caught-on-camera show with Tanya Harding making comments. TANYA HARDING PEOPLE

Also- The Office, Daily show, Colbert Report, 30 Rock, Sat Night Live, Frontline, and movies (usually comedy or documentaries)

Oh, and somehow I have gotten him to watch the bachelorette with me AND Gene Simmons' reality show lately. I think he's being extra nice cuz Im pregnant.
