Need Class help with Orion

So he is 3, and Lexi is going to take swim lessons. Orion wants to be in something, we just don't know what. And he can't take lessons there until he is 4. Any ideas what we could do for him? Looked in to Karate and its a bit expensive.

Re: Need Class help with Orion

  • Do you have a local parks & recreation department?  I know ours offers tons of classes.

  • ditto Julie about finding another place.

Where are you guys located? American Red Cross lessons start at age 3, which most cities offer.

Ditto this. I have my boys in a parent participation bowling camp for the summer. We love, love, love it! :)

  • Ditto the parks and rec recommendations.  Also, I know the Berryessa neighborhood in SJ has a lot of kid stuff.

  • Another vote for parks and rec here.  There has got to at least be something like a mom and tot class that is offered.  Also I know that our rec department offers a music and movement class that is geared toward boys, so instead of being about graceful dancing it's all about expending as much energy as possible.  Also if you don't get Groupon and the like you should sign up because I know I've seen a whole variety of camp discounts recently.
  • its mornings like this i hate being a working mom, THe parks and recs, swim classes are all during the day, and the ones i might be able to make it too, are full with waiting lists.

  • What about Dance classes? I think dance classes for boys & girls are great. They usually start at age 3. You could also look at art & crafts classes, either at local places or through Parks & rec.
  • Don't you guys belong to the Y? Our Y had swimming mommy & me style which Alex did, so fun, and also had a movement/gymnastics/dance kind of class which he LOVED.

They also did "Biddy Sports" for kids 3-4 and it was great.  Maybe look there if you are members (I know you were thinking about it and I can't remember what you decided).
