Need guaranteed ways to bring on Labor

This is my first pregnancy so i know it s supposed to take a little longer. i would like to have a little more control over my schedule aka when my LO will be coming! i would like to know when she s coming but w/o having to do something drastic like a scheduled c-section or other medical interventions.

any tips that have worked for you? Thanks!!

Re: Need guaranteed ways to bring on Labor

  • There is no such thing as a guaranteed way to bring on labor exept actual induction.

  • There is no guaranteed way. If there were, I'm sure everyone would be doing it (HOPEFULLY, when they are due or overdue).

Practically anything you hear to try is an OWT and nothing will work (not even sex) if baby is not ready.

    Good luck!

And even that can only be guaranteed to bring on labor, not delivery.

And even that doesn't work for some people. OP, don't try to mess with nature. If you are that uptight about being on your schedule now, you will have a rude awakening with a newborn.

  • You want "control over your schedule"???

This is childbirth, not a hair appointment! The baby will come when he/she is ready. Don't you want nature to run its course? You can research evening primrose- it's an oil I've seen a lot of people use when they are past their due date. No guarantees, of course.

  • I heard using a little vacuum cleaner attachment and shoving it up your vag can suck the baby out.

Also, its a commonly known fact that babies can't resist the allure of cheez wiz, so maybe put a little in your underwear and LO will smell it and come racing out.

  • How about waiting for your LO to be READY to come out? Now sadly, that doesn't work with everyone but hey, it's worth a shot, no?

My sister's boyfriend's brother's first cousin's grandmother's uncle's sister had the cheez wiz work for her.  Went into labor an hour after slathering some of that down stairs.

My SIL swears that is what put her into labor.

Actually, induction isn't even guaranteed to bring on labor.

  • Hmmm....control over your schedule isn't going to happen for a long time, even after the baby is born. It's going to be fun to try and get out of the house "on schedule" when your LO decides differently.

  • There are tons of ways people have tried, but frankly there is no such thing.  Baby will come when he or she wants to.  You can bounce on a ball, have certain foods, have sex, get the doc to strip your membranes - and still wait a week before LO is ready to come.  It's scary to not know when, but it is something we all deal with.

This. And why do you want to control when LO is coming? How far along are you? What does your Dr. say about it?

  • Ok...I think the poor girl gets the point...trust me, I'm miserable too!! I've been searching for ways to naturally bring on labor, and let me tell you none of them worked!!

DO NOT PUSH!!! Whatever you do, you can cause tearing and problems with your placenta...so please don't do that!

I tried dancing for several hours, eating lemon drop cupcakes, eating pineapple, walking stairs, walking period, bouncing up and down, I went into a pool and started bouncing up and down...I did get my LO to drop significantly and my cervix has started to thin from last week...but no more dilation and no contractions...not even close! Castor oil is a popular one, but I've read not to do it because then you just end up in labor along with having bathroom issues...so I won't be trying that...unfortunately if your baby and your cervix isn't ready, then nothing will work. Hang in there, I know it's hot and miserable, but you will make it through!!

  • So I just saw another post from OP. It would have spared you a few sarcastic comments to mention that you had to go on your 6-week maternity leave this week. I think people would have been more understanding of the fact that you want your baby to come ASAP! Anyway, GL. Here's some labor dust for you * * * * *
