Self tanner recommendation?

What is the best/most natural looking self tanner?  I don't want to look like Snookie or an Oompa Loompa.

Plus I need to practice on myself so I can have it down when I start tanning Maeve for her Toddlers and Tiaras pageants. Although I think I'll have to change her name to Maaeyve  Wink

I honestly have not had good luck with any self tanners I have tried other than the daily "glow" ones...

And I think it should be Mayee'veh (the h is silent, duh)

I've had pretty good luck with Jergens daily glow one. Not too orange-y - I just can't stand the smell of self-tanners, but I've got the nose of a dog.
  • I like the Daily Glow for a lighter, more gradual look.  But, if you want something more quickly, I also love the Neutrogena Micromist - it's a really fine spray, instead of a lotion.  It goes on really evenly and there's no need to rub it in (that's what she said), so I've never had an issue with streaking.

  • I like Jergen's too

I also really like Bare Escentuals Faux Tan, make sure you buy the body brush to go with it!  It's amazing!  You don't have to use your hands and it makes it streak free

Ditto, LOVE Jergens.  I like it better than all the other gradual tanners because it has a hint of sparkle to it.  Nothing big just a bit of shimmer.  I use it every spring.

  • My annoying SIL talked me into buying St.Tropez at the Nordy's Spa a few weeks ago, and I actually love it.  It is totally worth the price.  And, even my DH uses it and loves it.  Don't tell him I told you that, he'll kill me.

  • Jergens for slow tanning, and Loreal Foam for fast.  The foam has a bronzer in it so you can see exactly where it is [no streaks!] and the resulting tan looks great.  Caution - just don't do it before bed, you'll stain your sheets...[THAT"S WHAT SHE SAID!]

  • Note - after posting this, I was inspired to self tan.  Two updates: 1. It is Neutrogena Foam, not Loreal.   2.  It doesn't work too hot when it is over four years old.  D'oh.
