Any tips to get my 3 year old to wear one? It's to the point where he doesn't want to go to the lake/river with the family because he doesn't want to wear one. That's okay for now because I have my Mom to watch him at home, but she leaves in a couple of weeks.
He takes a bit to get used to new things, so I thought I'd have him wear it at home first, etc. & that didn't work at all. ![]()
He loves the water and is fearless when it comes to it so it's really important that he wears the life jacket, even though I'm a maniac about watching him.
TIA!

Ugh, he's so stubborn that usually bribing doesn't work. I'm going to try it again though, you never know!

What kind of lifejacket do you have? DS hated his traditional lifejacket with a passion but has no problem wearing his puddle jumper. It works really well too, at his preschool they all swim in the summer and he's all over the pool - deep end (gulp), jumping in, etc. easily and safely. It is coast guard approved although I think that I would want DS to wear something higher rated for actually being on a boat. It's great for wearing in and around pools and lakes.
Got mine at wal-mart, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003648OQY/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0019BSYXE&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=13CAPH436PBZD4E8RAPX

This is exactly what I was gonna say- and this is what my DS wears on the boat.
