Car Seat Inspection

We have been calling THREE places (Richfield, St Louis Park and DT Minneapolis) to try to schedule a car seat inspection and have left several messages at each place. No phone calls returned for the last two weeks - I am getting very frustrated! I have installed the seats myself as of now but would really feel a lot better having an inspection done. We live in S. Minneapolis - any suggestions?

    I emailed our local police department and they got back to us. I will say it probably took about a week, but then I had no problem finding a time to bring it in. Also, and maybe this was just me being first time mom and not knowing much, bring with your entire system and the manual. I only had installed the base, didn't bring the carrier with. She was super understanding and had time so I ran home and got the rest. GL!

    Agreed with above person. Just contact your local police dept. They are trained to do this.  If nobody gets back to you, just stop by their office during business hours, someone will be around to help you. Trust me, I work for one of the metro counties and that's what we tell people to do :)

    not true. Not all police stations have CPSTs on staff.

    We had a horrible time finding a place that would do this for us. Most police and fire departments we called said they do not do this anymore (hello budget cuts). And places that used to do this no longer did. We finally found a fire department in Spring Lake Park that does this. We found them on this web site:

    We called about 4 places near us, and the SLP fire department was the only one that called us back or did not try to charge us money. Good luck!

    Thanks, everyone! I ended up emailing the City of Richfield last night and they got back to us today. We have an appointment tomorrow. They said they moved buildings and their phone system was messed up. Thanks for the advice!
