I can't believe how fast this maternity leave went, yet I look back and I can't remember my life before her. I'm working from home today and then back in the office tomorrow, but DH and I dropped her off this morning and I did pretty well. Of course, I bawled last night and it's so weird being here in the house without her but I really like our daycare. I tried to give some instructions for DD when I was there but I was trying so hard to keep it together I forgot a few things and I'm holding off calling until a little later so I'm not that psycho parent who calls 15 minutes after they drop her off. She was in such a good mood this morning, and that helped but she did give DH and I this look when we handed her off and started toward the door. I had to hightail it to the car, so I didn't turn around and take her back with me. ![]()
The good news is, I'm working part-time the rest of this month which will help with this transition. I think I would be more of a mess if I was leaving her there 5 days a week right now. Not that I don't think she can do it, she's a very easygoing baby, but I don't know if I could do it. ![]()
Re: Wow. LO is at daycare.
This exactly. It sort of makes me both happy and sad that they thrive at daycare. It does get better and easier. Good luck.
I agree that the anticipation is a lot worse than actually going back.
I'm sure your LO is having a blast playing with the other babies, making new friends
Give her extra cuddles when you get home. I always loved coming home and nursing DS right away so we could snuggle on the couch.

it gets easier! and it's OK to call! I called every hour or 2 the 1st day DD was in daycare, and less often but still called for a few days after that
Hugs, we've all been there and it totally gets better. I called all the time with DD1 because she had the worst reflux and spit up constantly and I was so worried they would send her home.
To offer you some perspective, DD1 (35 months) asked yesterday afternoon, while we were having an AWESOME time at the pool, when she was going to go back to school. Apparently 3 days at home with mom, dad and baby sister are not nearly as fun or entertaining as school.
