is Landon too popular?

I don't know any, but it's rising in popularity. Is this a name you hear often? We are thinking Landon Michael or Landon James for a boy.

I like Landon. I know it's becoming popular, but I don't know any boy personally with that name.

I'd go with Landon James, only because Landon Michael makes me think of Michael Landon from Little House on the Prairie.

LOL, didn't even think about LHOTP! Michael is DH's middle name and James is for my dad. It will be tough to pick if we have a boy. It would be the first boy in our family, so I kind of want to use James, but we'll see.

Well, in that case, since they're both family names, I would use either. I'm sure the kids he'll go to school with will have no idea who Michael Landon is! ;o)

I think it's a great name. I do know 2 kids named Landon and I've seen it on the top 50 lists.

I prefer Landon James, too.

It was #32 last year, so it's definitely up there. You just have to decide how that sits with you-- for a lot of people, that would not be too popular. For us, we wouldn't pick it because I think it will only become more popular.

It is cute though!

Landon Michael is nice, but it is really popular. Personally, I know 3 Landen/Landon/Landyn's born in the last year. I also know of at least 4 Landen/Landon's under age 5.

Lurker here but I need to come in to get some help w/a girl's name later. Anyway, I like Landon too. In fact, during my first pregnancy ( in 2006), before we found out we were having a girl, we had picked Landon Gregory as a name. We really liked Landon and Gregory is my FIL's name. He passed away a month before we conceived our daughter. Now we're having B/G twins and Landon Gregory is still our choice for a boy name.

I don't think it's that popular, at least not right now. I know 2 Logans and only 1 Landon.

Love the name.. a friend of mine has a son by that name he's about 13 i believe?

and i've never heard of any other Landon's so i dont' think it's too popular

I have a Landon and didn't think it was too popular when I had him almost 2 years ago. I definitely have a different opinion now. On Mother's Day we had an infant dedication at church. There were 5 babies participating, 4 of which were boys named Landon.
